Making all the balls on the break in 9 ball?

Has anyone here ever seen that on a 9' table? I have seen 6 lots of times and 7 once. One time I saw 6 and 2 balls rolling to the same corner pocket , when they got to the jaws they knocked each other out so it was a 6 ball break but almost 8. I have never seen 9. Has anyone here seen it? Bar boxes dont count.

I think even on a bar box that would be impressive. I used to give this guy the Orange Crush. Wild Five up. He was/is 340llbs and broke bigger than I've ever seen. He would regularly make 4 or 5 balls. One out of four. Thankfully he could not run three balls and thus almost lost every set.

I saw him drop 7 back to back. I once made 6 and was hooked behind the nine.

Fatboy...Dick Leonard, who is an octogenarian player from upstate NY, and who posts over on CCB, told of a player he knew who had made all 9 balls on the break. This was decades ago, so there is no film or video of this, just hearsay. However, Dick's reputation is beyond repute, so I believe him.

my best is 5, It was so long ago I cant remember if I ever did it twice the pockets were huge. I never made 6 that I can remember.

I've made 5 so many times I've quit counting...made 6 several times as well. Craziest thing I've seen is when I once broke in league playing 8 ball...made 7 balls & all were solids. Thank goodness I could see the 8.:D

6 out of 9

One time I made 6 balls. They were the 1-6 balls. The 7, 8, and 9 were sitting ducks. I was amazed when I made the 1 thru the 6 ball.

This 8 ball break takes the cake for the best break I've ever heard! I'll bet you'll say you broke it with a Varney.

6 followed by a pushout

I remember seeing a guy make 6 once and had to push becauase he was hooked!

i saw a guy in des moines at big dogs make 8 on the big table and not run out

I would guess that on about 50% of the time I have seen 6 go in on the break the player was hooked on the 3 remaining balls or they were laying so bad the runout wasnt there, funny how that works. I have seen ALOT of 6's on the snap.

With a Varney indeed. I was just glad I could see the 8...if not I would of surely lost the game...how horrid would that be after a break like that?

About four years ago I played in a tournament in Bangkok where a guy made all 9 on the break. It was 8' tables with loose pockets. I did not not see it myself, but about 10 of my friends did, and I believe them.

My personal best on a 9' table is 5 balls on a 9-ball break.

R J LaDart

In 1968 in Monroe, La. I witnessed R J make eight balls on the break. The only ball left on the table other than the cue ball was the 8-ball. The 8-ball itself was headed dead center corner pocket and when it stopped just two inches short R J's only comment was, "Damn, I didn't hit em hard enough!".

Sidenote: R J was a gifted young player who broke the balls harder than anyone I've ever seen ( I was on the road a lot with Scotty T. so I've seen most of the "big hitters"). But there was one flaw in his game, his attitude. He would often insult someone after beating them out of their money. He invited me to go on a road trip to Texas, but I had final exams that week and couldn't go. When he was found dead outside a bar in Dallas, witnesses reported that he had beaten a couple of guys out of all their money and then asked them if they wanted a drink. They said yes and he replied ,"Well, if you had any money left you could afford to buy one".

I've made 5 or 6 and never did run out from the adrenaline that was built up.....lol I suck in 9 ball anyways..
