I was having some work done on the house today and- though it was a beautiful day- I hadda stay close to supervise.
I've been reading "Play Your Best Pool" by Phil Capelle, and I figured it was as good a time as any to put a few of his 9-ball drills to the test- by happy coincidence, a replay of the Chang/Gabica Guinness 9-Ball Tour leg from the Genting Highlands was on (if pool is on I'll watch it while I play- otherwise it's music only)- Chang won, by the way- not exactly a shocker- I aspire to play fractionally as well as he plays when he plays badly, if you know what I mean.
Blinding sunlight forced the blinds to be closed (plus I always feel a bit guilty if I play while people are working on the house, so I tried to hide a bit
)
The usual rail-birds were in attendance- an attempt by the terminator-looking cat to storm the table was swiftly thwarted (though not without lingering animosity on both sides- the dogs are useless when it comes to cat-wrangling
):
There are worse ways to spend an afternoon.
