In case you haven't noticed, I am from around here and have watched them play many times. There is no way Matt could beat Manny consistently and there are quite a few people I know who would bet on that.

But, I do respect your opinion, since they appear to be so closely matched. However, I just think Matt is a choke artist. At the US Open he rattled so many balls in in his final match is was pathetic, and all he did instead of sucking it up like a champion was to pout, look at the table funny, shake his head, and choke even more. I have heard Matt bragging about taking money from a chump, when in fact he was a chump losing so much money at QMastersn 2009. Matt is the PERFECT head case for a real hustler to go after.
 
Manny was in Chicago for awhile and was a very nice guy, would play cheap as you wanted and gave very reasonable lessons. I gotta believe that he is still not the favorite against someone like Kirkwood, but he is strong and I certainly wish him the best of luck.

Just for the record, based on the Fargo Ratings, Manny really played at that high level in this tournament.

That is, it's not just an easy road or a couple key games that could have gone either way, etc.

His performance was about even with that of Lee V.

Matt's no ones chump,matt just tells it like it is & some cant handle tha(if you cant handle the truth then dont ask him a question).On the other hand matt works a full time job & manny plays pool full time,that will make a differnce in your game.Manny is a super nice guy,just wish he'd change up the wardrobe,those red sweat suits just plain distract me when we play.

It was at the poolhall near Leesburg around a year ago. My friend and I were watching Matt, right next to his table. He was missing some shots and complaining that he wouldn't be missing this shots if he were playing for money. I guess he wanted to (1) impress all of his cronies at a nearby table, or (2) make some kind of weak excuse of why he was missing shots. Okay, on and on he went. His head was so big I thought it was going to come to a crash landing on the table.

My friend looked at me and said - what a jerk - I sure don't like that guy, and I agreed.

Heh, if I got the wrong impression, then so-be-it. Maybe I don't know him well enough, but Walter, if you say he is okay, then I will have to reconsider and may render my apologies one day if necessary.

I can't remember exactly where or what he does but the last I knew, the house pro gig isn't his full time job. If I remember correctly he has a family (wife & kids) and I'm pretty sure he supports them with a full time job outside of pool.

I believe UPS is accurate. Gonna be hot as hell soon too, but it beats the piss out of landscaping!
