Mark is one of the great men in our game and I'd strongly support his reappointment as Mosconi coach next year.
Yes, his team was crushed. In fact, the only Team USA that failed to win five matches at the Mosconi was last year's team, and that team was selected by Matchroom. That's right, not one of the twenty teams selected by America has scored fewer match wins than the 2014 team.
... but I still feel that Mark got the ball rolling for Hall and Bergman, both of whom will figure prominently in future Mosconi selection processes. Justin Hall was brilliant, as he was in the US Open, and Mark deserves some of the credit for that.
Mark is a visionary in our sport, a mover and shaker in making the pro game accessible to young players with big dreams, a great author, a great instructor and a gentleman of the highest construct.
I am very grateful to Mark for his efforts and will continue to offer him my support, financial or otherwise, whenever he needs it. I similarly applaud the efforts of Don Wardell and Amir P, his assistants who performed a labor of love to help prepare out team for battle.
Yes, it's back to the drawing board for Team USA, but I hope and believe that Mark Wilson will figure prominently in bringing American pros back to competitive prominence and will be a positive influence especially, on our young American players.
Perfect thread title, for Mark Wilson is indeed, great.
