Maryland 14.1

This is a first class tournament with a lot of top players attending. Peter Burrows and Rick Molineiro do a great job. Last year just a few of the big names playing were Thorsten, Charlie Williams, Bobby Hunter, Zion Zvi, Mike Davis, Gerta H., Bob Maidhof, Steve Lipsky, Danny Barouty, Danny Harriman (Back to Back Winner), Mike Dechaine and a lot of other top straight pool talent.

Hi All,

Everything is falling in to place for the big Maryland Straight Pool event in a few days. Play begins Saturday at 10:30 with round robin and Sunday single elimination.

Come on out to Big Daddy's Billiards in Glen Burnie, MD and check out the matches. There is a cover charge ($10?) but I'm sure you'll get your money's worth! You'll be able to watch someone run 100 from just a few feet away.

There will be streaming although I still don't have details. The room is just about set with new cloth installed on all of the tables.

A couple more players have jumped into the mix.

Johnny Archer
John Schmidt
Jose Parica

Other top players:

Mike Davis
Shaun Wilkie
Dave Daya
Bob Hunter
Ed Deska
Bobby Chamberlain
Bob Maidhoff
Danny Barouty
Zion Zvi

Wow! That's a tough field!

Almost forgot...there are still a couple spots left for anyone wanting to join in the fun! Just give Peter Burrows a call. His number is on the image at the start of this thread.

I always look forward to this event. For anyone who loves straight pool it is an event you don't want to miss.

Borana Andoni

Borana is going to play. This will be her first straight pool tournament. Good for her!

Anyone know the results?

Archer was at the table leading Schmidt in the finals when I went to bed last night. That's as much as I know.

Archer won 150 to about 60 or 70 or so against Schmidt. i just caught the end of it, and there is no archive. i just found out that is a paid portion of uStream.

Archer won 150-74 in a really solid match by both players.

Archer broke well
Schmidt played a long 7 ball billiard and ran 21 before missing tough shot in side with cue on end rail
Archer ran 80 and also missed a huge cut in the side
Schmidt ran 55 - don't remember what happened
Archer ran about 58 and played safe
They traded deliberate fouls - 2 each
Schmidt tried long slow safety but left a tough to reach cut shot
Archer cut it in and ran out to win

Zion Zvi and Dave Daya finished tied for 3rd.
Mike Davis, Brandon Shuff, Ed Deska, Shaun Wilkie were 5-8th

Andy

Thank you, Andy. I appreciate the info.

Didn't know my Sunday match was streamed. Sorry to all who watched it. I hope you washed your eyes with soap to get the images out. It was bad.
