Matchroom Premier League Pool (PLP) (14-21 Feb2022), nineball, 9ft, Winner $20K

Shaw is a natural -unzipping his pants and tucking shirt in on camera

This is awesome. The final six keeping their nerve on the table but constantly looking over at the other table, and checking their phones before matches. It really is a pool "league" after all and they are sweating it just like the rest of us 🤣🤣🤣🤣

idk about keeping nerve. both shane and jayson has looked worn out imo. jayson relying on long shots more than he should etc. bit of a slugfest. shane will probably get there, he can afford a loss, but im not sure jayson will get to the semifinals.

haven't seen alex, sky or albin much though, maybe they're the same. it's a marathon for sure

These guys are still hitting some of the balls into 4 inch pockets at speed to get the white ball where they want it. Yep, mistakes creeping in but it's all relative. Marathon indeed, great stuff!

agree, the level of play is scary good. but compared to yesterday i see some fatigue, especially in the position play. will be interesting to see who grabs spot 3 and 4

If my math is correct, the last session of stage 3 round robin is starting at 12:00 noon USA Eastern Time. Can anyone confirm?

Not sure it is fatigue. I think it’s getting to “squeaky bum time” where a loss has much more relevance than earlier. I think it’s nerves showing through. Earlier they could play without any worries , as a single loss didn’t really mean anything

I think they each play to 30 total matches? If so, it’s still anyone’s game. Filler would not even be guaranteed if he loses all 3 remaining matches.

Yes.
Remaining 3 rounds of matches of stage 3 at 12noon EST
KO Semifinals start after 3 rounds of matches. Each match average 40 minutes so about 2 hrs for 3 matches. So semis likely start around 3pm EST.
Too bad they are playing 2 semis simultaneously instead of one after other.
They could have played 6 rounds of matches (instead of 5 rounds) in morning session and 2 in evening session so that they have time to play semi 1 followed by semi 2

29. Filler is through to semifinal.
Kazakis has one leg out cos of his horrible rack diff
Albin and Shane has one leg in.
So on paper it is looking like fight between Shaw and Sky for remaining 4th spot.

I can answer a few of my earlier questions based on closely watching a few matches now:

Players are not inspecting the rack at all. Standing at break end of table while ref is racking with a triangle rack. Then breaking without moving closer to the rack.

Break and run count is not accurate on the chart. I just watched 2-3 on the Shane vs Kazakis match, and none were recorded. While on the other simultaneous match between Albin and Sky, 4 were recorded.

Shaw is thru to semi after winning 1 rack vs Kazakis
Sky and Kazakis are out

Semifinals
Filler or Shane v Shaw
Albin v Shane or Filler
