Matchroom Premier League Pool (PLP) (14-21 Feb2022), nineball, 9ft, Winner $20K

Is the winner of the whole thing the best record? Or once it gets to 4 players, they play a bracket?

Edit: I read the whole thread now, and see the final 4 switch to a single elimination bracket format.

This is probably the best break of this event. On the hill 4-1 vs Omar, FSR makes 5 balls including golden break

In the morning session, FSR was on fire winning 4 matches in row beating Filler, Albin, Alcaide. Omar.
On other hand, his countryman Alcaide also on fire except he is going down in flames losing 3 matches in a row.
I only watched a few matches, I see 1 on the spot, CB anywhere behind the line, and hard breaking in the matches I saw. Is there any 3 point rule or "agreement" on no soft breaks?

Monday's going to be a dog fight. Four guys will sit on 16 wins and two on 15 wins. Everybody is in the danger zone and only the worthiest will make it to the semifinals. Let the carnage begin.

It's not easy to handicap this, as every player left has had major ups and downs along the way, but it should make for some great viewing. Of course, it's a national holiday tomorrow in America, so perhaps it would be fitting if an American won it on Presidents Day.

Position play is king when the pockets are this tight, as recovery from errors in pattern play and/or pace is not so easily accomplished. Even the "missed position play crutch" called the jump cue matters less this week, as it's awfully hard to jump balls into four-inch pockets. It has been "stay in line or else" this week, and there's no reason to believe this will change.

Good luck to the six outstanding players that have reached Stage 3.

Yeah, this is surprising how close the top 6 finished. They are pretty much on an even slate going into stage 3, the last round robin stage. Each player controls their own fate.

Does anyone know if the "runout" count is correct? The highest listed is Shaw at 5 runouts, in over 160 games played. (alt break)

DAY 8 (FINAL DAY)
Final day of this star studded event which has one of strongest fields of any event this year (but is a non-ranking event cos it is an invitational) consists of 2 stages.
Starts with Stage 3 round robin of 6 players.
Top 4 advance to final KO stage (semis and final)-1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd and each match is race to 7.

This is awesome. The final six keeping their nerve on the table but constantly looking over at the other table, and checking their phones before matches. It really is a pool "league" after all and they are sweating it just like the rest of us 🤣🤣🤣🤣
