I’m like 50/50 if I like this format as is or whether I think only half your points should carry over from one stage to the next to keep the table competitive. At the bottom of stage 2, Albin with 7 points is still in striking distance of making the last 6 (and then last 4). So it’s definitely too early to cry wolf.

Albin miscue on the break, after consulting the referee it's ball in hand for Filler:

Ha! That was awesome! The funny part was Filler didn't even play lock up safeties.

And here is a thin hit safe by Gorst. Fortunately the ref was right on it.

You can say whatever you want about the format at the end of the day, once again as it normally does, the cream has risen to the top.

Another thing to consider is that today's matches on Table 2 (free on YouTube) have 42,000 views right now. People keep saying that no one wants to watch pool. That seems like a lot of viewers.

It can get a little frustrating for the bottom quarter, evidently....

I saw that post and took a screenshot if it. I am friends with Joven Bustamante, who is friends with Feliciano. When I showed him the screenshot yesterday at a local tournament, he FaceTimed Feliciano and they joked about it for a few minutes. I showed him my screenshot and he raised his drink to me laughing. He seems like a funny and happy guy (who might need a little social media training). :)

they weren't great, but keeping the 1-ball in the stack is a good idea imo. make em kick long. albin is a great kicker but was unlucky on both attempts
Is the rule ball in hand anywhere? I was surprised Filler did not opt to break, or he simply felt three fouling offered the best chance to win the game.

to my knowledge, yes. i have seen the situation come up before. the re-break option doesn't give him a guaranteed visit to the table, but the safety pretty much does.

Does anyone know what the delay was between the foul on Ouschan’s break and Filler playing his first safety? I’m just curious if the refs had to confirm with the TD to let him know what his options were or if he just had indecision as to what to do?
