For what it's worth, I think you are making an excellent choice as long as you stick to being done with it.

Wow

I been away awhile and actually read all 5 pages of this dreck. Bottom line is Matlock was/may still be balls on the best big cue ball barbox player ever. Any doubts should just step up, get with David and play some and if anyone thinks this is ballhuggin...they can blow me too:p . Since when are so many people so confrentational, oh wait...I know its the internet. Only the strong survive in the pool rooms and woofing has become somewhat of a lost art.

I am sure a very low percentage that bash online are in the pool room woofing like they do with text...JESUS H CHRIST!!

Voo~~~hows that for a welcome back post, HAHAHAHA!!!

And that was then, and this is now.

Keith McCready offered the world the 8 for any amount of money, anytime, anyplace, any player. Just step right on up. After he beat Larry Hubbart, spotting Larry two balls, Larry proceeded to go to Oklahoma City and beat David Matlock EVEN STEVEN. So what does this prove, Larry Hubbart beating David Matlock even steven, after Keith beat Larry Hubbart spotting him two balls? Not a damn thing.

Again, that was then, and this is now.

This colloquy promoting David Matlock reminds me of a lobbyist group. What are you lobbying for? What's the payout to keep insisting that David Matlock has never been beaten and is the best bar box player in the world? I just don't get it.

After being told NUMEROUS times that your renditions of events were not accurate, you continue with the same-old, same-old. Give it up.

David Matlock is an American thoroughbred champion on the bar box table. Was he the best? It depends on who you ask. End of story.

Like rooster said you have the stories mixed up yet again. You know Jam, I was talking about David in a whole new light and the conversation was soon to change, however, you have to throw Keith back in there, we were not even giving a Keith a thought. I do believe, without a shadow of a doubt, you like controversy. Go ahead and pretend to not be righteous, but I'm really starting to believe you like stirring up trouble. Read my last few posts, they were strictly about David, but you had to put your two cents in. This is a free world and of course you obviously can say and do whatever you want, however, David was the best player and still is the better player between the two. If you don't like those apples, put your money where you mouth is. Roosterman are willing to stake David against Keith anytime your ready to get off the couch! The offer still stands! If you don't want to do that, then lets not even address each other anymore. I assure you, Keith McCready's name will not be uttered from these lips anymore on this thread! I hope we can say the same about you!

Thank You...

Clint - how old are you? Also, not being rude but I tend to think that you did not watch Erman play in the 1970s. If you read Hemicudas post, you will realize that when people speak of Erman they are talking about the 1970s, early 80s. Did you see him play back then?

Yes David had open invitations to play $10,000 sets on the bar table. Buddy had open invitations in Louisiana to play $10,000 sets on the big table. Reed had open invitations to play in his home town for $10,000 as well.

Hemi - how old is Erman now? Just curious.
I'm 33. I know what your getting at. I'm not running Ermand down but just his style and what i've seen, I like David's end, day in and day out! I don't think I was being derogatory at all. Just an opinion of mine.

Of course, you stating the obvious falsehoods, untruths, and renditions of non-facts over and over and over and over and over again on this thread is not "stirring up trouble" or liking the "controversy" you are causing on this thread -- in your mind.

You can state David is the best player in the world, better than Keith McCready, and that is your right, as you can state your opinion whenever you desire. I don't have any problem with that. I think that is fine and dandy. :p

David Matlock is a great champion. Is he the best bar box player in the world? That depends on who you ask.

Has he never lost a match on the bar table? The posts from multiple people on this thread show that David, in fact, has lost multiple matches on the bar table in his life.

What does this all mean?

Does it mean Keith McCready is a better bar-box player than Larry Hubbart because he spotted Larry Hubbart two balls and beat him?

Does it mean that Larry Hubbart is a better bar-box player than David Matlock when after Larry Hubbart got beaten by Keith McCready getting spotted two balls, he beat David Matlock EVEN STEVEN?

If you want to state the falsehoods, untruths, and non-facts over and over again, Clint, then I will reply with the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Poor David Matlock. A great American thoroughbred champion being represented on this forum by a Roosterman and a Clint who can't admit they are wrong when confronted with the truth.

Let me say it once more. Pool players get beaten all the time. There is not one player on the face of the earth that I know about who has never lost a match or a game or a tournament set -- NONE, NADDA.

God bless David Matlock. I wish him success in all his future endeavors.

I now realize I have wasted my time in even replying to you.

You were 5 years old when Keith McCready was in his prime.

The only thing you are doing on this thread is relaying hearsay. What a pity.

JAM, just because someone was not there in person, doesn't mean that they know nothing and it is a waste of time replying to them. I am not going to say anything about the either player, but just because someone is young does not mean that they are naive and not knowledgeable. If Terry Ardeno, says something about Mosconi, Greenleaf, or even McCready, that doesn't mean it i worthless because he was not there. Come to think of it, Terry may have been around during Greenleafs day-he may have been a youg man back then though!:embarrassed2: I guess it is all how you present it and Clint and Roosterman might not have presented their opinions the polite way.

I'm not sure what mis-truths you are talking about?? I really don't know. Keith didnt' play david in OKC. YOU keep saying this. It's not true. At least thats what David says. Larry Hubbart didnt' beat david in OKC. You keep saying he did, David says thats not true. Where are you getting this? Larry played Matlock in Las Vegas. This comes from the horses mouth. I have reviewed mine and roostermans comments and I don't think were outta line. We are challenging yours and Keith's accounts. As you are challenging ours. You are speaking for Keith, and roosterman is speaking for David. Case closed. If David actually gets online and backs up what roosterman says, would all this stop? Or are you gonna carry on? Like rooster said, since your such good friends with Dave, why don't you simply call him up. You act like your so fond of him, this and that; wishing he and his wife the best and so on. Obviously, ya'll have a great repore and you shouldn't have any problem hashing out details with David. The number has been posted. I suggest you call it.

And you are??

That is incredible advice! Wow, keep it coming. BTW, should I drop my Broadwind energy stock right now, or should I keep an eye on what T. Boone Pickens is doing??

Jam is right about one thing. I didn't see Keith in his prime. It's all opinion and subjective. I spent some time around Keith in Vegas @ the cue-topia and I've been around David, I still can say David in the better player in my opinion.
