May want to avoid purchasing an X-Breaker

I dont want to make it sound horrid or anything.. but I would advise against purchasing an xbreaker from his website. I read about all the rave reviews of his xbreaker / jump cue from this site and spent 360 dollars for one and have never received an email from him yet. I sent my receipt number and never got a response for shipping info or anything and it's been awhile.

I have received no word on when its going to arrive.. if its going to arrive.. nothing at all. I sent an email asking a question as well and no response to that either. Right now I feel I just threw 360.00 out the window and am not sure what to do about it exactly.

I dont know if he took a long break.. got stuck in another country or what but I would strongly advise against purchasing his cue. I guess I should've went with the stinger.

Wow... you use your very first post on this forum to bash a well liked cuemaker, who for all you know might be in the freaking hospital right now, and in the same breath drop the name of a competitor.

Nooooooooooooooooooo, it's not THAT transparent. It's really not!

:D :D :D :D

This is only like the 8th person in the past 4 weeks to have a negative thing to say about their purchase.Normally I would chalk it up to bad-mouthing a competitor...

But over the last month, X hasn't had any response at all. I wish the best for him if anything is wrong, but I was contemplating the purchase of a break cue and now I am questioning it..

Don't worry, I'm sure he just had something come up, maybe a family emergency or somthing. I'm am very confident that he would not pull a Kevin Trudeau on you! :D

Something is up..... Richard has been getting ALOT of bad press here over the last 6-8 weeks or so..... with NO response.....

I was going to ask the same, thing I'm actually worried. I've been doing some work for Richard and he usually emails withing hours at best, very very good.

He's been quite for a few weeks, there is no way he'd be ripping people off I'm sure. Has anyone seen him lately, I'd just like to know he's ok?

It's very strange. I already have an X-Breaker. Right before Valley Forge, I bought one of his new ash jump cues. He rushed down to Federal Express and he send it overnight from Canada - which was very costly - and followed up with a couple of e-mails and was really on it. It couldn't have been better.

Hopefully Richard is OK and works everything out for these folks.

Chris

I've tried an X Breaker, a Stinger, and the Gulyassy.

Honestly, for me...I couldn't stand the X Breaker. Not sure why...just did not do it for me.

It was pretty even between the Stinger and the Gulyassy. I liked them both.

Richard is on MYSPACE. Look him up and ask him whats going on.

I don't know him but he used to be active on the forum and got good reviews. Hopefully he's OK.

However, I think this is a legitimate post to warn others and since e-mail is the only way to get in touch with the guy. Purchasing without getting some kind of e-mail notification is not good. So it sounds like you got charged for the purchase price?

Yea it was my first post here. I've been a visitor for quite some time but just read and lurked. I didnt come here to "bash". There was no flaming of any sort in the topic. Just a fair warning to those who, like me, read a lot and wanted to buy one to do so from an alternate source other than his website. Granted you wont get the warranty but at least you'll get the cue.

I also am aware he is well respected. Otherwise I wouldn't have ordered the cue. I hope everything is ok with him as well. I figure I'll still get the cue some day.. it'll be like a christmas present I didnt know I had coming or something :p

And Russ I've seen plenty of your posts as well :). He may be in the hospital. The hand of god may hath cameth down and strucketh him like a cue ball but it can be as legitimate of an excuse as any but I would still suggest waiting at least until he comes "back to life" before ordering from his website so you dont waste your money or at least "deposit" it somewhere for a long time.

edit: just read your post PKM. I got an automatically generated email from the website with the receipt number and a thank you. It had no shipping info or anything related to it. The email says for that information email info@xtremebilliard.com and shipping info will be emailed in response. It hasnt happened. I waited awhile before coming here too... and then waited more due to activation :p But yes I did get charged the full 325.00 and then 35.00 shipping. I'm HOPING it's still on the way but without any response or shipping info or any email at all in response to my emails I have my doubts.

I have to admit, with the lack of communication, after several threads that begged for a response from Richard, it seems a prudent man would indeed hold off on sending any money into the either, until Richard makes an appearance.

I have met Richard and had several conversations with him, he is a nice man who has went out of way on several occasions to help members of this forum. That said, there has been a disturbing lack of commo from him lately.

I see no reason to jump on a poster no matter how many posts they do or don't have for simply stating their experience. It's not like he came here to do a hatchet job on Richard. If it was my $360 that had been out there this long, you probably would of heard about it before now.

Richard really needs to fix this communication issue quickly. It is reaching a point where he is rapidly losing some of the good will he has earned. I hope there is good reason.

I think he's got a myspace page. you could probably send him a message on there. I dont have access at work, but it usually shows you the last time someone logged on to their profile.

I guess I'll send a message when I get home from work. His last login was June 1st.

Richard is generally an EXTREMELY reliable individual who makes customer satisfaction one of his top priorities. THe lack of communication does not sound like him at all.

I do know that he has a lot on his plate right now between still fielding orders and the issues he has regarding his partnership with Samsara. But I as to the details i do not know them nor would I even care to comment if I did. Its not my place.

I will do what I can to contact him over the weekend to see if I can get any answers. Once I hear something one way or another, I'll get back to you.

Well I would appreciate it. I think many others here would appreciate knowing what's going on with him as well. I have no problem waiting on a cue if I know when it's coming. If he says 3 months before it's finished then fine so be it at least I know hehe. Not knowing anything is what's troubling.

I am sure there is a good reason. Actually, I'm bit worried what the reason is, as this is not his style at all. :(

I agree, this is not even remotely like Richard....so something must be up. He is usually quite diligent. He even called me within minutes of my receiving my X-Breaker last year just to see what I thought of it, it the fit and finish where as should be expected, and that he was concerned that the tip of the cue may have had some waxy residue on it that he may have missed removing, and with instructions on how to remove it, if there was indeed an issue. Since mine was one of the first out of the Samasara shop, he was also looking for my input as to the quality of build...as well as to my thoughts on the cue's overall performance.

If that isn't customer service, I do not know what is!!

I know that last year about this time he did have a fire in his shop, which delayed him completing orders in a timely fashion. I, too, am equally concerned, as I hope that a similar setback has not befallen him. Richard is what I would consider one of the good guys....so this behavior is very troubling indeed.
