May want to avoid purchasing an X-Breaker

I sent my receipt number and never got a response for shipping info or anything and it's been awhile.

You said it's been a while. How long is a while? I'd say if it gets to 3 or 4 weeks just call your credit card company and they'll do a chargeback. If you haven't received your product, you won't lose your money. They'll simply take the money back from Richard's merchant account and credit it back to yours. CC companies always side with the consumer. They shoot first and ask questions later.
That being said, Richard's last post here was way back on 5/25 and his last login on his myspace page was 6/1. Hope he's alright.

Well I bought it with a debit card and I havent looked into getting the money returned to me just yet. I do want one of his cues and I do have faith in him. I am going to wait a bit longer and see if he turns up or if someone can get in touch with him and then decide where to go from there. I'm not too hasty about backing out as his rep and his cues are very good I just want to find out what the deal is and to let others know to just wait before ordering until it's known if hes ok or what's happened.

In the "Other" Back Door?

If you look up Richard's patents (which I did out of curiosity a little over 4 months ago), you will find that, while he is the patent-holder, the patents are "assigned" to Jennifer Chen.

It might be possible, if anyone knows Jennifer or how to contact her, to gain some insight from her as to what is going on with Richard.

I think you are doing the right thing and it seems like you had little choice given his lack of response and there being no where else to go. I see no flaming here nor any attempt to bad-mouth the guy.

....There were some worrisome signs from the Layani thing to Samsara not wanting to renew to the ever changing Ebay ID's. A lot of smoke that is.

Back in April

I ordered an X-Jumper from Richard on a Wednesday and received it the following Tuesday. (last email from him: 4-13-07). He mentioned that he had a backlog of 68 cues to make. I DO KNOW that he is making all the X-Jumpers himself, but do not know if he is personally making the X-Breakers.

Richard is very conscientious and usually answers right away, but did mention he has got to concentrate on getting the orders filled.

This is another email for him: Xtremebilliard@yahoo.com

This is so unlike Richard that I can not help but feel something unusual has happened. Maybe he got a virus in his computer, and ended up losing all information in it? That would surely throw you for a loop. I have been infected 3 times in the past, and ended up having to do a low level format of my hard drive everytime, and completely reload the whole computer with software, with some information being lost forever, and I am a retired systems person.

I say, give him the benefit of the doubt.

My opinion, get your money back and go through Joe Nielsen off ebay for your Xbreaker. He usually has them in stock and is cheaper than buying directly from Xbreaker.

Even if he got a virus, he can still log on to the forum from anywhere and post the reason for delays. I am starting to think something more nefarious or disastrous has happened to Richard, as this avoidance is completely out of character. I REALLY hope he is ok.

Linda, isn't Dan Louie kindof repping for Richard up here? Maybe he would know something?

I've been trying to reach him as well. I haven't been able to get a hold of him via email. I noticed he hasn't posted on here for a month and he used to post everyday. Wasn't his wife supposed to have a baby or something?? Maybe that's it???

I called Danny and he said he didn't know either. He will try calling again. He said he has called and texted him with no reply. He saw him about a month and a half ago and was very excited to be starting production on a lot of cues. It's all just very odd.

I spoke to Richard last week ,he phoned me on an unrelated matter. I do not want to interfere in his business dealings or speak on his behalf, thats just not right in my opinion. I will only say this to calm anyones anxiety as to his well being. He is alive and well.

Jennifer Chen is at The Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida playing a WPBA event and will be there until Sunday 7/1.

Suggestion:

Let him know what is going on here. It is time to give "face" to this situation.

I did mention to him the volume of posts I had seen here over the last few weeks.

If you had something good to say, you surely wouldn't hesitate. That can only mean one thing.

Well I guess I'm tired of waiting for a response. I'm going to try to get a refund then get another j/b cue. Disappointing as I was really wanting one but there are plenty of good ones out there.

cubc,

I take back what I said earlier in the thread. If Richard has been told of the volume of complaints he is getting on these forums, and he has not made any effort to let everyone know what the problem is, then he might deserve all the flack he is getting.

You might want to consider going through Nielson on Ebay, as someone mentioned. The X Breaker is still a good product from what I heard, so you can still get one if you want one, without going through the maker. At this point, maybe we should just back off from ordering the cues like you said, and let him get everything ironed out.

i reckon he's probably a bit snowed under and stressed with things and is just in temporary hiding for the moment.

Well I had given Dan Louie a $200 deposit for an xbreaker and I spoke to Dan about it and He said he never gave Richard the deposit and would gladly refund my money. We all know how reputible the Great Dan Louie is so I'm happy to say that I just ordered my X-breaker with the leather wrap on Ebay from Nielson and paid the extra $29 for the express shipping. I figure the express shipping will pay for itself when the stick helps me place in the money at the local 9-ball weekly tourney.

I will gladly let you know how my transaction goes on ebay. The stick was $449 with free case and tapper and standard shipping. I paid the extra $29 because I must have it now. So my total was $482.40 He has a perfect reputation on ebay so all is not lost. You can still get an x-breaker.
