McDaniel or Scruggs?

I am a McDaniel fan....

The two are excellent comparison both in constrution and playability, but the overall performance I feel goes to Bill. Hi-end inlay work also to Bill. Resale defineatly goes to TS (especially on AZ), you will always find a buyer for a Scruggs.

I currently own a McD' currenty, but in fair comparison, I have owned multiple TS's.

It is too bad Bill limited himself to such a few custom designs compared to most every other custom builder.

Personally I would be proud to own either or both.

McDaniel - Hit is pure, craftsmanship is second to none and Champion after Champion has used or is using a McDaniel.

In terms of playability I didn't think there was much of a differance:) on cues made between the mid 80's and late 90's.

SCRUGGS cues have always had a higher percieved value than a comparable McD.

The answers will be regional based,,,,,,,,,,,,more recommendations for McDaniels from the people down south but more for Scruggs from up here where I am at. Both have been around for eons and I have never heard a bad thing about how either of these guys cues plays! Wyld78

And come to think of it wasn't McDaniels helping Scruggs build his cues some years ago? Heard that from some body long ago,,,,,,,,,maybe Jon Wright.

McDaniel .. because I got one for possible sale ..

wait ...

I have a Scruggs for possible sale too ....

I change my mind, it's definitely Scruggs since this one is more expensive :D

I will say this, without Bill,Tim Scruggs and Tony Scaneli(sp) would not be where they are today. The story is Bill's to tell, noone else's,his dog,his hunt.

Hay Ho!
If you still have the Scruggs Box cue don't sell it. He will never make another again. A little birdie told me!

I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing:confused:

I have just started to play pool again after 15+ years away from the game. I have played with two Palmers, a Viking, two Danny Janes, two Black Boars, one Southwest, and two Samsaras. I have never played with a McDee. All I can say is since I just got back into playing pool, my Scruggs Szamboti copy is the best playing cue I have ever played with.
Thanks
Glen

Hay wait a minuite!

You left out Mike Cochran. I would never disrespect any of these master cue makers buddies, partners and friends for ever by saying anything but the first cue you see that any one of these guys made that says buy me to you listen to it!
You can't go wrong!
Nick :)

Definitely......

Tim Scruggs or Mike Cochran make the best out there for the money. Some may be more expensive but I have never hit with a cue from either that didnt hit phenomenally. I have 3 Scruggs and even the Sneaky plays jam up. You will never go wrong with either of these. My .02.:)
