Meeting Girls

I play a lot of pool and it seems like everytime I get involved with a girl, it turns out that they hate pool. Most of the female pool players here in my hometown are less than attractive. Any ideas?

Drop your standards :D

Actually, you make a good point, but I gotta say that any good looking women that walk in pool halls probably look at my ugly mug and say the same things about the guys that play pool ;)

........move.
LOL. Sorry, man. I gotta tell you, though...not sure I'd want to meet my girls in pool halls anyhow... :p

yo man pools something i keep to myself (and a few select friends). i go to bars to pick up chicks. if you meet a girl that doesn't like pool don't take her to the pool hall. find a girl and do stuff with her that she likes and keep pool to yourself. don't take her to the pool hall unless it's just to show her off

lowering your standards isn't all that bad, "cougars"{old chicks that try to pick up young guys} need lovin' too

I heard a story about a famous player. I dont remember if it was Jimmy Fusco Or nick Varner. But one of the Legends... Anyways , they said they had a test for when it was time to trade in you girlfiend... What they would is put an orange on the dresser next to a five ball... When the girlfriend can tell the difference between to two it was time to get a new one !!! HAHAHA ... I thought it was funny !!!
Most guys I know from the poolroom have the same problem if they have a girlfriend or wife.!! My girl was cool for about 3 months then realized I had an addiction to pool!! Now Im lucky to get 2 days in a row in the pool hall a week. But I love her ... What can you do !!

My dad always told me to watch out with girls I meet in pool halls. Personally, I spend most of the free time I have outside of full time work and school playing and the last thing I want is a girlfriend that plays pool. When I'm at the pool room I'm either playing or drinking with the guys, I don't want my woman there competing for my attention.

And for whoever mentioned it: I'm 21 and nothing's more fun than a good cougar.

Zachary syndrome?

Sounds like Zachary syndrome!

Their faces look Zachary like their butts. Just kidding. LOL

It is funny to watch a young pool player bring his new girlfriend into the pool room. Early on, all smiles. A week later, smiles occasionally. Later on, no smiles. At the end, big frown. Then, a new girlfriend and it starts all over again.

Never met one that didn't mind the money I won but lose once, holy moly, and never hear the end of it.

But, on the other hand, show me a pretty woman who can draw their rock the length of the table for shape and I'm in love.

I have the answer...trust me on this...;)
Match.com
You can see all the available women in your area for free. Put in like within 20 miles of your zipcode...you'll have several pages to look through. In their bio's you'll be amazed how many have pool listed as a hobby. If you want to sign up its only like $50 for 3 months. Its how I met my wonderful, beautiful wife...and we would of never met without match.com for sure! My friend Mark was so impressed he signed up...and he's no lady's man by any stretch...and I was recently the best man at his wedding. It really works. There are many fine, available women out there that don't want to meet men in bars and such. Computer dating...its the hot ticket.;) :D

Thanks for the advice....I'll take it!

I think this has a lot to do with how they are introduced to the game. I see guys bringing in their girlfriends, having them play sets, spotting them a bunch of points. They act like it is competition. ANYBODY will lose interest at this point.

I try to approach this a different way. I like to hang out and have fun, its not competition its just messin about with your girl (in a pool kind of way ;) ). Don't try and run out on her, teach her stuff if she wants to be taught, but if nothing else keep it fun for her.

Oh ya, and for god sakes if she can't pocket balls, don't make her play 9 ball!!!

You Will Find The One For You When The Time Is Right.i Have Been Dealing With What You Are Dealing With For The Past 11 Years.i Spend All My Tim In A Pool Room.good Luck And I Hope You Find The One For You.........bull

Even worse is trying to find a guy in a poolroom! I'm gay, and long ago I realized that walking into a pool hall, the only thing I'll find there is a game on the green felt.

So this reminds me of a story. Met this girl via internet...www.myspace.com (just like match.com, but free). Of course, if she wants to hang out with me, she will end up in a pool room sooner or later, usually sooner. So we're playing our first game when the bartender asks us for our ID's. She doesn't have hers. So I did what any self respecting pool player would do. I gave her 5 bucks to walk over to burger king and get me some food while I play some more. 3 hours later, I find her sitting on my car (that kinda pissed me off). This girl used my 5 bucks to put minutes on her phone so she could sit on my car and talk to her friends. A few days later, I took her to one of my weekly tournaments and the damn girl wouldn't leave me alone. Needless to say I lost. True story.

BTW: She still hasn't gotten the hint. I get at least 4 phone calls/messages a week.

You want to meet a 'good woman'? Learn how to two-step and get your butt out to a country bar, better yet...get your butt to a country bar and let the women teach you how to dance....not during the kiddie hours after10pm but early in the night between 6 and 10pm after 10pm all the descent ones have gone home anyway. trust me on this one.;)

My suggestion is to find the regional women's tour in Texas and find one of the stops nearest you and attend. You will see all that your area has to offer of serious women players and you may get lucky. That is my tactic for my single friends to come out to The Parlor tomorrow...er, today, to have me make the introductions if they see someone they want to meet. ;)
