Well it looks as though the WPBA has spontaniously updated the brackets. It further appears as though Melissa Herndon won against Alison Fisher on the winners side. This also means the Ms. Herndon will be appearing on ESPN! Way to go Melissa!

Mike.. Let's get the v-bookie up on this. :D

Must be one great evening in Albuquerque. The final round for the last two TV spots has the top three ranked players. the matches are Kelly Fisher vs Allison Fisher and Jeanette Lee vs Karen Corr. The two winners will play inthe first TV match against each other, with the winner moving on to play Melissa Herndon. Ga Young Kim, last year's runner-up at the US Open, occupies the hot seat.

This is a great moment for Melissa. Hard earned and well-deserved. I can't wait to watch her on TV!

Landshark77,

Nice work for Melissa but where are the scores for Kelly Fisher Vs. Karen Corr
Karen Corr Vs. Ga Young Kim????? There are no friggin scores!!!!!!! Should I put the WPBA on my ignorant list????????

I dunno Gremlin, I think the WPBA might have put you on their ignorant list first, LOL! They have the scores up for who I'm following, did you water down their Kool-Aid or something? :p They have had a terrible time this tourney keeping the fans updated. It really is rediculous. IMO, Sarah Rousey should get some kind of award for keeping us all up to date. :)

Sharky77,

I think they had no Guinness my goodness! Yes, Sarah Ellerby has don that. LOL I will call Kelly when she gets home she and Valerie will know the score. They like Guinness thank goodess.

Sarah should get a big check for making me look good. I sure am going to add a page for her on my new website "Gremlin's" Pool Page

Cheers,

"Gremlin"

Gremlin,

Hopefully you will know the scores you are seeking soon. I think Amber Bock is the WPBA's beer of choice...and that could very much be the problem!

I've seen your web pages before. They are pretty inclusive. I think Sarah would be a wonderful addition. :p

But to save face, and to prevent me from hijacking my own thread, LOL.... Congrats again Melissa...take 'em all down this tourney. :D

I am not shocked at all.
Melissa can shoot.
I saw her at the Shooters' Labor Day weekend tournament.
She beat a few men. She even had Morro on the ropes.
Morro slipped in at least two bad racks to slow her down.
Melissa was running tough racks on a tight table ( 4 3/8" corners ).
Congrats Melissa.

I like the header...

Have a good rest....and enjoy Sunday....did you bring your TV outfit....we are all looking forward to seeing it.

We all wish you the best.....

Would love to have checked you heart rate after beating Allison....!!!!!!

bye for now....Wayne

Almost didn't read this post because I thought it meant Melissa got upset. "Melissa upsets Allison" would probably attract more people.

Good to see someone upset Allison. Great for the game. Great for Melissa.

And Harry, you will be happy to know that John DiTorro and Bill Ferguson of the Men's Florida Pro Tour are very conscientious about posting the scores of all the matches on their tournament chart. Unfortunately neither the current standings nor the brackets are posted on AZ.

Congratulations to Melissa she must have been ecstatic after beating Allison. Ga Young Kim is one hell of a player, she played Danny Hewitt at the Western Canadian Open last year and almost beat him losing 11-8, she can shoot lights out. Wouldn't mind seeing Kelly Fisher make the TV stages so I can finally see her shoot.

I believe she is. TV matches are as follows:

Kelly Fisher v. Karen Corr

Winner of Fisher/Corr v. Melissa Herndon

Winner of Herndon match v. Ga Young Kim

Ladies...take Corr dooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnn! :p

I spoke to Melissa a little earlier today. She was waiting for Kelly and Karen to finish their match up and was very excited. Said she would log on and give us all a full report on Monday morning.

Mike

I just read where Karen beat Kelly, so It's Melissa and Karen now, winner plays Ga Young. Go Melissa.

Rod

Melissa lost to Ga but is in the one lost with Alison and Karen. Ga is doing great.

Rod, where did you read it? For some reason, WPBA.com, whose brackets I checked about ten minutes ago, has not covered the play, still showing six remaining. I'm sure there's a reason they have not been able to cover their own event, but if you have found another place to follow the action, please provide it.

I'm not sure if this is where Rod read it, but pootchr has a contact and posted the results on the ccb. Here is the direct link to the thread. Please bear in mind that this thread was started at the begining of this tourney, so some news is old.

Thanx again to pooltchr...keep 'em coming! :D

Melissa said she was a little pre-occupied and didn't know the scores of the matches last night on the one-loss side.

When I spoke to her today, it was hill-hill between Karen and Kelly. I was definitely not going to trouble Melissa with asking her to call me when the match was over since she would be getting ready to play her match.

I actually have a couple different players who have offered to call me with scores and highlites from the WPBA events. I have told each and every one of them that if calling me ever got in the way of their match in any way, to please forget about calling me.

...and there you have it. IMO, the WPBA should be updating regularly. They used to be pretty good about it, but these last two tourneys were just terrible...and it appears to have gotten worse. :( I think that if the players could update that would be great, but they are out there working, trying to earn a living. I don't think it would be fair for someone to say to you call me and update me on your work progress through out the day, LOL. Ah...I'm just calling to let you know I got that paper filed today, and at two I'll be doing that report......... ;)

I threw this out on the ccb and I'll do it here too. If ANY of the spectators could give us updates that would be great. It would also be great for those who hear back form their contacts to post what news they have recieved. IMO, a little bit of info is better than none. You you've gotten the score form someone, post it. If you just know the outcome, post it. We are all thristy, so if you have some water, please, share.

JMO.

sjm,

The reason is they don't care about the fans! Mike could have given use a score form Melissa but he left it out. Since no one else is talking I intend to keep quiet. Just like one of Mr. T's secret tournaments.

I cover it with my cell phone sjm it's the new wave of the future.
It's world Series Time now and a sport that can't even give the score can wait till AZBilliards report on monday morning. Kelly Fisher finished in the TV matches in only her second Classic Tour Tournament so my friend's legend only grows. I think it is fantastic what interest a few fresh faces in a tournament finals can generate?

Note: Kelly Oyama is responsible for posting scores on the website so send her some mail if you don't like the way it's done.

Cheers,

"Gremlin" ;)

I'm not trying to make waves here. Even if they came up a buck short in covering the US Open, WPBA.com is still a great site.

Rod noted he read about the results, so I asked where. It seemed simple enough. I have not jumped to any conclusions about the WPBA's level of concern for its fans, but I will say that, in my view, no professional pool organization does more to take care of its fans than the WPBA. I'm just disheartened that I'm not able to follow my favorite players on this one occasion.

Ah, WPBA.com just posted that Corr has beat Herndon by 7 - 5. Great tournament for Melissa. I believe Karen Corr will regain the #1 ranking with or without a win in the final, which is, by the way, a repeat matchup of last year's US Open final.
