Meucci has brought back the old "Meucci Originals" logo on a limited edition of 50 cues.

Has this ever been done before? Don't you think these cues should be dated?

I think this will cause confusion down the road, or even foster larceny.

What do you think?

I have an orininal "Meucci Original" 84-8. Strickland played with this model before Cuetec.
 
it does have #/50 so that would help identy the newer ones.. the older Originals didnt have this did they?

Saw one listed on Ebay a few days ago - Being listed as an ORIGINAL older Meucci Original in brand new shape. Was #7 of 50. I thought it went over the $420 cost at Budget Billiards, but not sure. Was skeptical about the numbering, and wasn't sure how this came about.

I think it was mistake, all it takes is for someone to remove the finish on the bottom, cut the collar off the flat laminated shaft and put the collar on a new shaft. Wala, and then you have a Meucci Original 84-4 that you can sell on ebay for the double the current value.

They should have chnaged up the collars or something on the cue, but what is be expected from Meucci!!!!

Oh well I cant complain to much, I still sell allot of them.
 
yeah, not sure what Bob was thinking... and I see where it would be easy to fake the Original....

Im not crazy about Meucci, but I have had a few good ones, one was the Giant Killer, (Older one) that cue played great...Very differnt from the newer Meucci cues I have tried for sure..

But it seems that way with alot of other brands too... Not just Meucci..

IMHO the New Meucci, is MEZZ Cues, those cues play great, are well constructed, and wont break the bank..Mezz however is of much higher quality than even the older meucci's IMHO.. I also like the Style alot better also..

They are not junk!!! I bought # 6 out of 50 and it is a beautiful stick. Hits great also...I own 3 other older Meucci originals and this hits just as good. I bought a Meucci Gem cue about 2 years ago and sent it back because the cosmetics of the Gem sucked. Got my money back. But this stick is awesome in cosmetics and I have not complaints about it. It definitely is not a piece of JUNK!!!!
If you would like to see it let me know....i will even play you with the piece of junk for some money!! When you get through playin me then you can make your decision on if it is junk or not. LOL Kick you butt all over da table!! LOL I own about 70 cues and this is not a piece of junk!

84-8

I own and occassionally play with an original 84-8 and it's a fine cue with a solid hit. Although I'd like to sell it at some point in time this will definately confuse buyers. Sorry to see this happen, I think it's a poor decision on the makers marketing efforts.

I think that for as many bad stories you can come up with, there at least as many good stories, too. I guess it's just one person's opinion versus another. Some of the best pros in the world played with Meuccis, and a few still do. Just remember: It's NOT the arrows, it's the INDIAN!

They were paid to play with them.
I knew pros who used old Schons and were not getting paid to play with them.
Jimmy Wetch for example played with a Schon. Then Meucci signed him but I dunno if he got paid. The next year he was playing with a Sigel.
I do not know of any pro now outside of Joyner and Rempe playing with a Meucci.

And I know of more than a few that got them tricked up by non Meucci staff....custom shafts, etc.;)

no way in hell............

Thay can stamp Meucci Originals all over that cue... it will still be the same POS Meucci that they are producing...........

Now.......... show me a TRUE ORIGINAL Meucci Original and then Ill shoot with it :)
