In terms of how to get a Bender version of a Mezz WD700:
-buy a 3/8-10 flat face version *I have a newer one for sale.*
-have either Bender or your local cue maker drill out the thread
-refill the thread with phenolic and glue
-retap the thread for your Bender..which I believe is 3/8-14
Any skilled cue maker should be able to help you out.
its nice buy 1 ... its like if u combined a schon n predator shaft u get a mezz
I have owned and played with the following LD shafts...
Tiger X
OB-1
Predator
WD-700
I would have to put the WD-700 at the bottom of the list, being in my personal experience the least low deflecting of the four.
I felt the WD-700 to have a somewhat 'softer' hit than the rest of the LD shafts I have played with. I could barely tell any difference in playability between a normal maple shaft and the WD-700. It very well may have been the factory tip, a Moori medium I believe.
My personal favorite is the Tiger X followed closely by the OB-1, both tipped with a Tiger Onyx, I really like that tip.

I love mine, the first time I hit with one I don't think I missed a ball for a half hour.
For those of you who have shot with a MEZZ WD 700 shaft, what are your thoughts about its performance. Comparisons would be great as well.
I have always wanted to hit some balls with a Mezz WD700 shaft to see how they play but my Bender cue uses a different thread than what is offered on the MEZZ cue web site.
Thanks,
I thought it hit well. I have a Mezz AXi-N for sale with the WD700 shaft and Moori Tip - New. PM me if anyone is interested.
This is not necessarily correct. As all the WD700 shafts I have are of super tight grain count and the wood quality is excellent. When given the opportunity look at all my shafts before purchasing them and hand pick thru them.
I bought a WD700 in Las Vegas directly from Caroline Pao and it was filled with super tight grain lines.
Predator uses the pie shape for two reasons:
1) They market the uniform stability of the shaft from 360 degrees
2) They can use any quality woods and simply cut them into pie pieces and glue them together for their shafts. Therefore no need to find highest quality of shaft wood to complete their products
Mezz on the other hand has uber quality standards and especially the WD700 shafts. I have owned 4 WD700's and all of them were great quality.

Thanks,
Of the five or four shafts I got in the last two years for low deflection, the Mezz WD700 has the lowest. Although I haven't tried them all, I'm surprised Mezz makes one that is advertised at even lower deflection. That just would seem wrong to me with the ball going backwards all the time.
My test cue is a flat-faced 3/8ths-10 Gilbert, so it's going to hit similarly to your bender I believe. I see no issues with workmanship, taper or hit. The shaft is a winner with its greatest fault with me is that it's squirt is too low for my normal game.
There is only one issue I have with the WD700 - the sealer on it has a little more tack than the other cues. 000 does the trick, but I was surprised how aggressive the sealer is.
Another shaft that is similar to the WD700 in my opinion is the Jacoby Edge.
