I remember this one ! What a rare gem and beauty, the cue in hand is amazing!!! The story goes like this:

I walked into the shop after calling Mike and saying I wanted to stop by. I hadn't spoke to or seen Mike in 3 years,I stopped playing as well for that time. I arrived and asked Mike what he had available , (after shooting the shit for a long time lol)he said well these two cues, he sat them on the pool table. They were two 4 point 4 veneer hoppe cues with 2shafts ivory ferrules,no Inlays. One cue had an ivory joint and leather wrap, red veneers. The other stainless joint and linen wrap and green veneers that pops. I said how much? He chuckled and said ain't what you remember ! I laughed and said what ya mean? He said a basic 4pt 4veneer hoppe/two shafts ivory ferrules/jp's starts at $1900.00. I was stunned since the last cue I got from him a few years prior with inlays was $900 lol but times changed and TS cues were worth every penny to me! I was deciding which one ,hitting balls with both. He said hold on before you decide, he walked into the back and brought out this cue. He told me he was now making his own Cues (MC Cues) and this cue was the first cue with his MC logo. He said that the cue wouldn't last long and was $6k asking price ,(this was many of years ago by the way). Mike was very proud of this cue. The smile he had looking at it when I held it,spinning it in my hand looking at the work is still to this day stuck in my mind. Ill miss Mike.

I passed taking the ss joint hoppe and was given a great cash deal as well, thanks Mike!! Although I spent every dime I had,you were understanding and thoughtful to give me such a great deal and I appreciated every time you did so for me :)

A few days later ,this cue had not left my mind. I called and said I wanted to buy it,but Mike told me he sold it already. He said it sold the day I left the shop, he started laughing and said 2 hours be exact after I left ! Lol I said damn congrats!

The year Mike passed,I asked him about this cue and what he would make it for. He told me he didn't wanna do these style veneers/points anymore and if he did make it in his own new style the cue would start at ATLEAST $7800 I said $7k? His response was ,"A guys gotta eat Steve"! Mike always said ,"He's gotta eat when it came to making money lol it was funny. I decline and placed a deposit in a smaller cue and I never got the opportunity to get it. I wish Mike was still alive and making cues.

But needless to say ,a great cue here. Bill Congrats on the acquisition

Nick, thanks for your support too. p.s. Chris, i paid for this cue with the money that i saved by not getting my B.Szam. hoppe and that makes me happy!

Great cue. I dig those segmented butt windows. Can't tell you how happy I was to see a MC get sold without it turning into a Housewives of AZ ***** fest. Great pick-up,

Kevin
