Mike Sigel's Global Pool League

We didn't do well with the IPT. We still have close to $10,000 of clothes that Keith will probably never wear. We're stuck as far as expenses.

You are certainly entitled to how you feel, but I think the continued ridicule of Kevin Trudeau, a man who spent approximately $10 million to make something positive happen, is wrong. If he was the Dalai Lama or Mother Teresa, people would still hate him because his business model failed.

I'm not sure where you're shopping, but $10k for clothes is a ton. Tell Keith to stop buying clothes at the Caesars Palace mall!!!

People are ridiculing Kevin not because his business model failed, but because he flat-out robbed people blind. If he had a shred of integrity and his business model failed, they'd be calling the Mosconi Cup the Trudeau Cup. Lots of people fail in business -- it's HOW you fail, that matters. If you cheat others, well -- you don't deserve the praise for whatever good you've done. It's like a mobster handing out turkeys from the back of the truck during a holiday. The people who are starving think the mobster is one blessed guy. In reality, he's a stone-cold murderer who prob chopped people up for looking at them the wrong way. You tend to think that type of guy is "aight." I tend to think that person can't hand-out enough turkeys to offset being a stone-cold SOB.

Yes, the IPT was a failure, but I give the man credit for trying. I see businesses rise and fall all the time in my industry. It is a shame, yes, that some business models are flawed from the get-go and have no shot at success, but this is life.
I give him credit for taking a swing too. I never knocked him for that.

I sent a man 50 bucks on Prodigy years ago for some pool balls. He stiffed me. I feel bad about it, but it's time to move on. The difference between that man that stiffed me and the IPT is that the man was going to stiff me, no matter what happened. The IPT did try to effect a change for the better in pool. The IPT was not formed to rip off people. It was formed to create a better pool world. Yes, it failed. It is a shame.

Prodigy?!?!?? Holy shit. I forgot all about them. I wonder what happened to that service?

It IPT may not have been formed to rip people off, but it did. KT increased the prize fund from $2M to $3M based on a false claim. Told vendors they had an unlimited budget, when at the time they already knew they were screwed. Had vendors run services when they knew at the time they were screwed and wouldn't pay. Continued to run qualifiers and take players' hard-earned money while they knew there would be no follow-up events.

So, ripping-off wasn't necessarily the goal at the beginning, but at the end it definitely was the goal.

With that said, I already know what your response is going to be on all items... so I agree to disagree :)

I guess you hate the Bonus Ball too, right? What they have done is worse, requiring players to be in Vegas for an extended period of time. The American pool scene is permanently scared because of BB.

I vehmently disagree that the IPT deliberately, with malice aforethought, ripped off vendors.

As far as clothes, I like good things for me and mine. Nothing but the best! :lovies:

I know you vehemently disagree -- but I know for a fact, 100%. Sorry.

Best to you and Keith-

Last time Mike was involved with a BIG TIME POOL thing
it was with the Help & Support of this fellow. IPT.

The issue (for me, anyway) isn't that KT's business failed, or even that he lied as the IPT went down the tubes. That happens all the time. Suppliers to failing businesses get stiffed. If the amount of credit requested from the company is that large, then require an audit of the business before offering any more credit.

The issue begins before forming IPT: he stole/cheated the millions he spent on IPT. His pyramid schemes robbed everyday people of significant amounts.

The fact that he spent that money on pool, doesn't make it okay.

And you don't think there are members who post on this forum who have done the same thing or worse, yet they are heralded as "good guys" on this forum? Even the money made by some of these members has been supporting pool and its players, yet nobody utters a peep about it. NOT ONE PEEP!

If you have evidence of your accusation, then please peep-away. I'd love to know about it.

Inform the FTC or FBI.

Like Kevin Trudeau, these folks' pasts have already been exposed on this forum.

Okay Stop

Kevin has absolutely nothing to do with Mike's new league...so get off it!!! Mike's new league is set up for amateurs as well as highly skilled players. He has solid financial backing. I thought all of us on AZ loved pool. Give Mike a chance to make this work for Christ sake.

The only reason I started the thread because Mike was at Champions in Frederick on Monday and we spoke at length about his new league and I thought I would give the AZ folks a heads up. Mike is really exited about his new venture.

Wish him luck...I know I do!!!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the poolroom, just when you thought the IPT was dead it has risen like a phoenix from the ashes!

Kevin Treadeau is not involved with this league. In fact, Kevin may be going on vacation for a while. How do I know this? I've been hanging around Mike, and trying to get involved with the GPPA. He told me everything that is going on, and it looks good so far.

I think it is great Mike Sigel keeps trying new things to try to bring some kind of healthy life back to pool. And if pool would have been as attractive (financially speaking) as many other sports, I am sure Mike would have earned a great deal more titles than the many he already has earned. Naturally, a healthy tour keeps ones interests far longer than playing for peanuts.

Regardless of Kevin T's moral character etc..., Mike helped bring together the biggest thing pool has ever had to this point.

May be? LOL It's a done deal. KT already has reservations at Club Fed, where he will likely be "vacationing" for years to come. As far as the IPT goes, KT had a great vision and did it up right. His biggest mistake was that he tried to go too big too soon. If he had just taken a million a year, and added $100K to 10 events a year, he WOULD have been pro pool's savior...and pool would be all over tv even now. Yeah, he stole tens of millions scamming people with his books...but you know P.T. Barnum said it best 100 years ago..."There's a sucker born every minute...and two to take him!" LOL
