Million Dollar Challenge Documentary

We will put it on PPV after the New Year.

Is this available on PPV?

We will put it on PPV after the New Year. We have been delayed on all our shipping due to this year's extensive Holiday volume (of overall shipping in the US).

We currently have the Semis of the Million Dollar Challenge on PPV on our web site.

Happy Holidays.

Awesome, I've seen where you've made the high sales volume comment a few times. So how many have you sold and how many did you order on the first batch?

The order just came in 17 minutes ago, the postal service is running on Sundays this year because the shipping/mail is so far behind. This is supposedly the biggest shipping week in HISTORY!

That says something for our economy I would think.....anyway, we were hoping to receive shipment tomorrow and got a pleasant surprise.

As an added bonus ALL orders that we ship out tomorrow will include a signed, limited edition poster.....thanks for your patience - Happy Holidays to you and yours.

2014 is going to be the best year for billiards since the 90s.

We just got our Back Order in yesterday (delayed almost a week due to the Holiday Shipping volume) and we're preparing the DVDs to go out in the order they were received. We will be working all day to speed up the shipping process.

For everyone that ordered I'm signing a special poster to commemorate the event signed to the name that is on the order.....if anyone wants a different name signed let me know asap.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays to Everyone - It's been an outstanding year and from our perspective 2014 is going to be the best year for billiards since the 90s.

soon we will have the opportunity to bring back this awesome event.

Good deal CJ. Looking forward to it.

Thanks, Bud, it's going to be nice to get the chance to reveal the "Untold Story" - in all these years no one has guessed many of the facts about the 'Million Dollar Challenge'....and soon we will have the opportunity to bring back this awesome event.

There must be a "story line" and the characters must be personified

you should try and get this on that espn 30 for 30 show.

Yes, I agree....we have a producer in Dallas that's motivated to getting it on TV, or especially in a movie......you are right, this is what our objective is for being involved in pool, There must be a "story line" and the characters must be personified to succeed.

TV is the Key

Didn't Earl make the 9 on the snap 4-5 times? If he made it on the snap say 5 times then he actually ran 6 racks. Still an unbelievable feat but does make quiet a difference.
Just wondering........

He did not make it once on racks 6 thru 11. He may have made it twice in the first five racks. He definitely had the break shot wired on that table.

That's not quite accurate. ;) He actually did make it in racks 6 thru 11.....maybe more than once.

The July, 2016 issue of Billiards Digest has a "20 Years Later" 3-page article on the Million Dollar Challenge. The author, Nick Leider, spoke with Earl, CJ, and Linda Moss (Earl's wife at the time). According to this article, Earl made the 9-ball on the break in Games 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9. So, if accurate, that's 5 times in the million-dollar run!

This is incorrect information! Earl never made the nine ball when I was racking! So he did not make it in racks 7 and 9 and I don't think he made it in rack 6 either (I didn't rack #6 but I watched and saw that the nine was coming close to the corner pocket and made a decision to rack all the balls as tightly as possible).

Odd, Jay. I know you have said that in the past, too (e.g., post #17). But the article is presented as Wiley, Strickland, and Moss clearing up the misinformation from the past. And did you see post #27 above, by CJ?

But I still have not seen the video (showing the last half, or so, of the run). So my information is all from articles and posts. I imagine you have seen the video by now, which would mean you are not relying solely on your memory (even though your memory of past pool events is quite amazing)?

I suppose it is possible that Leider was just repeating past (inaccurate?) information in the section of the article that lists what happened game by game, and then presented new information from CJ, etc., when the article discusses the financial goings-on.

I posted (#53) because it seemed we might have new information. Perhaps not.

The GC's at the event had a newer style pocket composition, and the rubber pockets came off like an eraser on too the balls sooooooooooooo. During the initial package, before the Camcorder and Helfet racking came into play....Early wiped off every single ball before each rack....he told me he was NOT making balls in the foot pockets but in the four others. Not sure if they were cleaned after that, Jay would know, and Jay for sure did the racking.
For a great description of that time and place, get an old P&B magazine, I wrote and article for them, and they printed it word for word and sent me a check (which I was not expecting or cared about). I'm the worst at writing, but that time they ran it Unedited and I got it right, my dad also passed that weekend. Them running the article surprised me as much as the package, as I flunked Freshman english in HS :o. And spent many summers doing makeup to graduate. Francinne Massey insisted I write the article.

Hi, Bill. I read your article. You said Earl made the 9 on the break 4 times -- Games 2 and 4 and two more times in Games 6-10. So your accounting differs from several others.

Jay hasn't responded yet as to whether he has viewed the video to check that his memory is correct, so if someone else reading this has the video, please view it again to confirm what Jay said -- that no 9's were made on the break while he racked.
