Miscuing with Kamui chalk...0.98

Let me start out by saying that I have been huge fan of Kamui chalk. I have defended the cost.I hadn't had any issues with miscuing since my first cube a few years ago. I'm now on my second cube.I had my other stolen after a few month of use. It had been well worth the money..IMO. Let's fast forward to the cube being about half way worn down. A friend of mine in the area (AA ranked player)said that he had issues after it got worn down and towards the middle of the cube. He stopped using the chalk. He said that miscuing is happening frequently. It seems like the properties of the chalk have changed and isn't staying on the tip. I hadn't had any issues at all till this past weekend. I was in a tournament and miscued three times on Saturday while using Kamui chalk. Needless to say,I've lost all confidence in the chalk. I will be using Blue Diamond from here on. I'm curious if any others out there have any similar experiences?

FYI..I keep the tip picked, scuffed and in great shape...

I'd say even though you don't have to chalk often with the kamui .98, you do still have to chalk every now and again

The pool gods shall hear about these impure thoughts!

How dare you blame the holiest of chalks! Repent now, while theres still time!

You didn't say, but do you keep it in the ziplock bag when not in use? There's been some discussion that it dries out if you don't, and isn't the same. I guess it would also dry out just from the time it's out of the bag and in use, it would just take longer. Or if you're in a hot, dry climate in the summer, etc. It obviously has changed, so that's one possibility.

David, I keep it in a chalk holder when not in use. I keep the chalk in my case which is always in the closet if I'm not using it. I think you're right. The bars do get hot sometimes due to it being pretty warm out. The air conditioner just can't keep it cool sometimes when it gets crowded.

I've been using the chalk for a while now and have a routine with no issues but now am miscuing. I have gotten spoiled with the chalk and now something has definitely changed. Miscuing happens...it's part of the game but this weekend was disappointing. I don't want it to seem like I should never miscue while using Kamui.

Switch to Blue Diamond and put chalking your cue, even if it's just one light swipe, into your preshot routine. Your play will improve as will your confidence.

Can't say I have ever miscued with Kamui. But I don't miscue with Pre Flag either.

Even tho I kept the chalk in its wrapper, I found it started drying out on all 4 corners and then moved towards the middle. After a few chalkings, the dried part went away.

p.s. if your game hinges on chalk.. you don't have much of a game

I like to chalk all the time, almost after every shot, so I can't afford to use Kamui chalk :D

however, I played with Kamui chalk some times and they are really great, but I cant bear the shout of my friend (who owns the chalk) when he reminds me that I was using Kamui chalk and I dont need to chalk too often

How is your tip? I notice I miscue more now my tip is wearing down.

On a wider note, I find all chalk is better the newer it is
