Was world 8-ball "champion", Mike Sigel there? (selling cues or playing)

I did not see him personally but that does not mean he was not there. There are so many people there it's hard to keep track. Like i guess Jimmy Mataya was there barking at everyone but unfortunately i missed it.

I witnessed the " Jim Mataya " act ! I have no more respect or desire to watch him play, listen to any accu stats or BCN programs that have him in it!!! This isnt unusual for him I'm told. He was a great player in his time and still graves the attention I guess. He went through the middle of the action room at the top of his voice talking like a mad man and totally disrespecting all the money games being played!!! He put out a challenge for someone to get up,bet high and play him some!! When my boy Said BET him wouldn't play !! Cause he can't play! This whole episode went on for a good 20 minutes at least. Then he went to the main tournament room and did it again !!!

Shannon Daulton was there and I'm not sure why he didn't feel like playing but he had a few chances but didn't play. He has been there and done that whole action scene for years. He can still play all games well. I think he had other things going on.

Dennis Hatch And Rodney Morris are two top players and yet to find out why they didn't come but I'm guessing since Rodney doesn't care about gambling that much. The tournament doesn't offer that much money for him. You have to place higher than 400 people and a weeks expense all for a 13,000 dollar purse! Lets face it , action pays the bills we all know that! Most everyone comes for the action.

money

it paid 16,000 and change for 1st place in the 9-ball, I think rodney would have come for that if he could have??

I know they pay a lot of places, but the top 10 pays decent, and a guy like rodney has sponsors to pay expenses.

I say Mataya in Vegas last May and it was my first time to see him, (it was my first time to watch a tournament obviously, since i met my boyfriend) and guess what he was wearing some cheap sunglasses in a darkened tournament room! iI asked my boyfriend why? and my boyfreind said he was trying to look like an actor sense he was in some part role in a movie {i dont know} it was awful!!! LOL I used to live in hollywood and met so many actors but none like Mataya, arrogant that's why he never got another role in film. I dont like him.

No Dennis, although he was at the windy city.

No Rodney either.

The mystery of Dennis Hatch is solved... He played in Cap's Cue Club Joss Tournament in Syracuse NY and He won it...........mike

Justin Bergman and Jesse Bowman were there.

I had heard Alex was busy with poker. Keith was missed by all as well.

Are you certain of this? On the next to last day, a large young man walked by in the action room and I was told that it was him. And he had been to the Bar Table tourney in Reno earlier in the year as well.

If you know him so well, call him and ask him if he was in Derby City. It is possible that I was misinformed. But he was specifically pointed out to me by another player.

Jay, how are you doing? It was nice to get to spend some time at the DCC with you. As far as Justin Bergman, I never saw him and he is also a smaller guy. Maybe 5'6".

Take care, Jim

Thanks Jim. I guess I got the wrong info. I don't personally know him, and the person who pointed him out to me must not either.

I may be the one somebody wrongly pointed out to you Jay. My name is Justin, I am Large :D , and I was in Reno.

Anyone who has ever seen Justin Bergman could NEVER confuse the two of us. However if I had a dollar for everytime I was called Sean (Putnam) last week, it would have put a nice dent in the hotel bill.

I was with Shane Friday night in the tournament room when you introduced him to your friend "The Guru".

If you are interested I have a few good pics of you running the late night ring games, if you want them just drop me a line.
