I have been in contact with the people involved in my deal and my matter should be resolved by this time next week.
I think Mitch's situation is a bit different then mine.

Good to hear! Is whoever that is hopefully going to bring your resolve the same party that Mitch needs to work with? And if you care to share, was it the promoter, a dealer, Ashley or ? that is responsible?
Yes Mitch should talk with the same people I have spoken to. I have given Lenny my phone number and Mitch can call me and I will give him the number of who he can contact. Mitch's situation is different then mine, but all I can say is as far as I know Ashley is not involved. Their involvement ended when they donated the furniture.
I bought a dining room set from Ashley and actually had 2 of the chairs with a slight damage. They had no issue with replacing the chairs immediately.
I am gonna guess, and strictly a guess, this has to do with the tournament organizers and not Ashley themself.
Has Mitch tried to call Ashley? You dont state who was giving him the runaround.
I spoke with Mitch last night and he has your number and also a bunch of others too. I hope that both of you get this resolved. From what I gather the furniture that was won by both of you was sold to someone.![]()

Come on Lenny - don't tease us. Who sold it and to who did they sell it to?
He was told that he won $8000 worth of furniture.

If that is true, this will be just another reason for corporate sponsors to kiss pool goodbye. Who wants to have their brand name dragged through the mud? Another story about dishonest people associated to pool evolving..

I will never trust the galveston promoters after finding out about this, unless its resolved.
This is rediculous
i can tell you that the legs of this dining room group must be stuffed w/coke if it is worth the amt claimed. i just retired after 33 years as the manager of a furniture store, and yes, we sold ashley. one of the absolute biggest problems we faced daily was lack of concern on the companies we dealt with, concerning parts, warranties, availability and shipping of products, etc. i was at galvestgon, and told my friends i was there with that i could have sold them that shitty stuff at about 40% of the advertised value. without knowing all the facts, i assume there were middle men between ashley and the promoters who dropped the ball. pls pm me if you think the ashely was a good value. i've still got access to 2 million of inventory that includes ashley . i know the guy who owns the store would sell you the whole inventory in a heartbeat at those markups
Dear Ashley Furniture,
I'd like to apologize for the bad PR you've been receiving at AZB. You stepped up for the pool industry and gambled on being a main sponsor for a large new tournament in Galveston. I applaud you for this!
Apparently (and unfortunately) after you provided furniture for raffle, it was mismanaged and the raffle winners have been bearing the brunt of this as a result.
Subsequently, posters on this forum have jumped to conclusions and slammed your company, stating unwarranted negative things such as:
“Boycott Ashley Furniture!!...”
“…I’m having a problem with Ashley as well…”
“…It’s safe to say Ashley is busted…”
“write an email to Ashley… CC the BBB and … Howard Stern…”
“Change to Rooms To Go…”
“Well, if any of those numb nuts at Ashley Furniture is listening…”
If I could retract these statements I would. Perhaps those that wrote these things will delete/amend their posts. It's extremely distressing that we, the very people that are so passionate about the incredible game of billiards, can at times be our own worst enemy. We are a protective bunch by nature and usually do a much better job of appreciating our sponsors.
I'd like to hope that we at AZ Billiards will see the injustice cast upon Ashley Furniture and make a genuine effort of amends. I've seen some truly heartwarming actions come from the good of the AZ Billiards community!
Thanks for listening.
Respectfully,
Matt Thompson

You, above all then should know the difference between retail price and actual sale price. I'm sure one of pool's sponsors appreciates you sharing your wisdom and helping out. As I'm sure Ashley will be clamoring for the next opportunity to get shit on by pool and all its short-sighted nit-wits.
