Here are a few more pics of my new Mobley. It is still being built and needs more finish work, but you get the idea. I hope Randy doesn't mind me showing the cue while under construction. Do you think black or brown lizard would look better ??

Wow!!

That's a really different look/style..
I can see why Randy is one of the top Cuemakers..
The Wrap color?
Hard choice..
Black Wrap for the Black inner Diamonds?

Tommy, you should have done a poll..

Thanks for showing..

Hey Tommy,
you have to take black, so the Butt/Points will push more up. Randy did a mistake on my Monsters, I have ordered on the Bi Plane Cue a black wrap, so the nice Amboyna Butt and the black Propeller ring will looks much better as it is now.
Randy have to change it when I will Visit his Shop.
Congrats to your nice Monster Cue.

i prefer brown smooth, but black is too much of a stark contrast for me.
It is beautiful.
I like it!!!

something as close to cortland linen as I could get....personally hate leather. I'd rather have cork than leather.

Considering the joint collar & butt cap, I'd go with black to bring everything together, and to soften the effect of the ebony notched diamonds. Personally, I think they might stand out a bit too harshly w/ a brown wrap.

My 2

Well,

I think Black 'L.E. FONT' would look nice. Great I idea using the black diamonds trimmed in the ivory () assume).

I FORGOT TO MENTION THE GREAT RINGS!

Mobley snakewood cue under construction

Tom, the snakewood is awesome-some of the best I have seen. I think it is a difficult call on the wrap color and the wrap design for your cue. The Tascarellas could be very helpful--how far are they from your home? If I had to guess, I would not choose a black wrap, but a smooth darker brown or a dark brown gator skin may do the trick. The wrap will definitely "make the cue pop". Good luck with your search, best wishes, Paul Del Giudice.

Very nice.

Black will make the wood stand out,and balance the black inlays.

Question

I have a question.

I really like the look and feel of Sting Ray leather. I don't mean to hijack this thread but often wonder if it could be used for cuebuilding. I think it too would look great as I do the elephant.

Also does Randy Mobley have a web presence? How might one get on his list if possible.

Thanks,

NINER

My personal opinion would be to use black elephant ear for this cue. This wood is so beautiful you don't want it to compete with the lizard pattern in the wrap section. In addition, elephant ear is wonderful on the hand. I have 4 cues on order that will have elephant ear.

Congratulations,

Chris <-----getting a Mobley too
