Monica Webb beats Earl?

It's funny how people make such a note about Earl or any male player getting beat by a female. If it was the other way around or even a local short stop beating Monica for instance, no one would be talking about it but the folks in the room most likely.

If a local short stop (male) beat Ear or any other, it would be thought of as nothing but a fluke.

People are always trying to find new and interesting ways of debating the whole sexes thing. This thread is nothing more than that.

Sorry to ruffle any feathers here...

Pete

Hey P-man,
Your argument would be much more persuasive if you were GIVING the weight.

P.S. - Pinocchio would roast Efren if he got that spot.
P.P.S. - Sorry for ruining your action, but you know nothing ever comes of these internet challenges.

I have played Monica and been beaten by her in a tournament. As a matter of fact she went undefeated through the event. I would have been glad to have beaten her. Our match was fairly close, but she played better. Now I could have caught a gear and got those couple of extra games I got beat by and won, but she would still have been the better player in the long run. Earl is still the better player by far in the long run. Sure it actually puts more pressure on you to play a female player, especially when she is the underdog. I was the underdog against Monica so no shame. But now there are some C-player females locally that catch a gear and beat me once in a while. I hate that. No glory if you win, as you just beat a girl so to speak and embarassment if you lose. That is what Earl, Keith, Buddy, Johnny and all the rest of us have had to deal with. But our egos need a check at times, so girls keep on playing, we will learn to deal with it!
Jean Balukas said she actually got threatened to get punched in the mouth (after beating a couple of men in a row) at a mens tournament if she won her next match. She said it made her so nervous that she lost. She took the guy serious.

I have felt the pressure of playing females too though not of that caliber. At one of the local tournies I play in I played one of the room regulars who is not very friendly but she plays good. I beat her but the entire match her chick crew was lined up along the wall giving me these "just die already fat boy looks." On the other side of the room all the fellas were lined up along the wall watching and most likely thinking of ways to give me shit if I lost. I haven't felt that awkward since the time me and a girl were the only two who had the guts to dance at a jr. high dance and all the others were segregated by sex and looking on:D

I think "The Queen" rackmskr would tell you that Earl doesn't like playing ladies. I believe she had an issue with him during an IPT match...Linda???

On a side note, I'd love to play Karen or any woman of her caliber.....:p

Actually, I did not have an issue with him during a match. During practice, he approached me and asked if I was the lady writing mean articles about him. I believe he had me deluded, er, confused with another Asian woman, but he didn't let it go. Then Smashmouth started attacking me on here.

I will tell you, he sharked the heck out of Jasmine when she played him on the IPT! Too bad it worked. :(

At least Earl Strickland gives everybody a fair rack and is not a rack rigger.

He lost, fair and square, to Monica, but I wouldn't be putting Earl Strickland in the old folks retirement home just quite yet! :p

Earl knows how to rig the rack, but for the other players good. He was at a event in Marietta, GA and seemed to want to go home. He was in the losers bracket early and playing a local player. He would rack for the guy and then call the break ball for the guy. Sure enough the ball would hit the corner pocket. The guy who paid around a grand for Earl in the auction was livid as he watched his grand get flushed intentionally down the drain.

How exactly do you rig a rack? I have seen where a guy was racking the balls they would fly all over the table but nothing go in. As soon as the other guy would rack em' balss seemed to go. How is that possible?
