Monica Webb v. Sarah Rousey betting line

Sarah pay him no mind. I had the pleasure of playing with you two years ago at DCC and had a great time. I'm sure your game has improved much since then and you played pretty strong then. Maybe he would like to give you the 7 out for $500.

I can't give anyone the 7 out for 500, and I sure couldn't give her that. She would spank me even for that matter. Just to show what a good sport I am, I will play her for $500 the next time we are at the same venue together.

Girls sports are girls sports. All the players can do is to try and do their best. For them its as competitive as Earl and Efren or two league players.
A bet is a bet also.
Guys like girls and pool is full of guys. I am not sure how many will pay ten bucks but I dont think the audience would double if it was $5.

Good luck to both of them. I actually think that Sarah is going to surprise
Monica and everyone else a bit in the Banks and One Pocket...especially if things dont go great for Monica right away.

Corvette what you said was very insensitive. And to bring up your poker playing is such a nit thing to do. Doyle Brunson plays for millions but he still gives the lady pros respect in his game.
My union rate is $680 minimum a day. When I work I get 4 times that. And sometimes it is just for 15 minutes. As long as the job gets done. When I get contracted for a week, and that doesnt mean I work the whole week I get $5000 at the least. But one of my greatest joys is to play nickel/dime poker with my friends and I get more pleasure out of that than anything. On the internet I love to play on Full Tilt on the nightly $1 Ferguson. So aptly named for Chris Ferguson who turned $1 into $10K. So what you win or lose that much in a day? You telling me that doesnt tell me about your worth as a man. But your insensitivity to a person who is trying to do something good with her life to the best of her ability and comparing it with your drunk buddies is crass to put simply.
In 2005 I saw this young lady play for her own money and get down and gamble with the guys in her specialty-9ball at the Derby. It was right next to Cliff Joyner playing for over 45K. But I kept on focusing on her that night. Her will and determination and her fighting spirit I really admired and wished that I had. I am sure it is this spirit that she will bring to the PPV. Thats what you are paying for.
All the singers who sing on American Idol cant compare to the greats like Streisand or Dolly Parton or Whitney Houston. Not to mention Great classical singers like Pavarotti, Boticelli, or Placido Domongo. I would pay to see them. But we watch these amateurs and beginers and newcomers because we watch their guts and their determination and their spirit. Do you have that in your poker game. Does your drinking buddies bring that to the table. I think Sarah Rousey will. And that the PPV contest will be much better than sitting around watching you and your buddies play.

thanks Derek. When I looked back on that post I realized how some could find it insensitive and I should have thought about it a little more before I wrote it. However, I do not appologize for my opinion and what I find interesting and not interesting to watch. If I personally had $500 riding on this match then it would be good to watch. I can't watch a midseason baseball game on a random Tuesday night unless I have money riding on it. I don't play golf or pool anymore unless I am gambling at it. It's just not fun to me.
The big events in sports I watch even if I don't have any stake involved. The Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, NCAA tourney, Bowl Games, major golf tournaments, or any tourney that Tiger Woods enters, etc... all fall into that category. The bigger money matches between the men, which are often players that I know from past personal experiences, also fall into this category.

Am I the only one that finds this match up unappealing? I will definitely pay for the Shannon/Chohan match and I'm sure I'll watch a lot of the stream from the action room throughout the derby since I won't be able to go (work sucks!), but two females that play at least the 7 under friends of mine that drink all day and never play just isn't that appealing to me. That and the fact that they are playing for less than I make or lose each day playing internet poker just makes this one that I will skip. I love TAR and what Justin and Chad are doing and I have watched ever pay per view and will continue, but it will be interesting to see the amount of people that pay to view this one vs the men that are playing for a lot more money. Discuss.

Personally, I like the match up. If I make it to the DCC in time, I plan to watch this match up as it should be interesting to see how both of the ladies now play. While I haven't spoken to Monica except maybe a few words here and there, I have spoken to Sarah on more than an occasion or two and find her to be a very nice person and enjoy her game on the slate. It will be interesting to see how her game has continued to evolve and look forward to the match. I haven't seen a lot of Monica's game or Sarah's recently and I imagine a lot of people will tune into TAR to get a glimpse of their respective games and pull for their favorite just like any match. The fact that both of them are easy on the eyes will make the match up that much more interesting. She and Monica are very competitive players especially for the cash. It should be fun.

Well I have seen both of these young ladies play and they both play very well and are very competetive. With Sarah's monsterous break and Monica's seasoning, I think it will be a great match. Good luck to both of you.

Whatever happens in this match I thank both Sarah and Monica for ageering to go on TAR PPV Streaming. Monica for the open challenge to any woman and Sarah for being the only one to step up (as far as I know).

Monica has been on TV many times...Sarah has not. This could be a factor in the match...I don?t know. But what ever happens I thank both of them for putting their reps on the line for all to see. Johnnyt

Well I think you should apologize. Not for your personalble likes or dislikes. Thats you. I happen to like watching lower ranked players who are on an equal par battle it out. I hardly will watch a "big event" just because its "big". I would rather be playing pool myself or watching some tapes of Efren while everyone in the sports bar is claiming "we" did it. As if they were playing themselves.
What you find interesting or not is your personal likes and dislikes. Its like saying I like busty blondes. Yeah, So What? Tell me something interesting.
But for you to equate the caliber of these two pros to no better than your friends who can beat them giving them the 7 after getting drunk all day is out of line. This is where your apology should come in. If not at least you should feel repentant for making a stupid remark.

Sarah,
again, I really didn't mean it in the manner that it was conceived and I sincerely respect your game and your competitors' games. I wish you luck in this and all future endeavors. You are a class act and I unfortunately in this instance was not.

corvette, Derek was right, you are a good guy. I know you are a suporter of TAR but now you have a reason of buying that feed. Its only $10 and you have an interest in the outcome as well. Cheers.

Nice Fix!
