Why are all cues that are for sale called monsters???

When I see the pics.......... I don't see any monsters.........

Because they are monsters to those who are not adjusted on monsters.Beside, people want to get a monster check on them.
One of possible reasons is they are monsters for themselves. Some of them look so scary and if you would see them in the dark you would get scared too. That's how much monster they are,
For example Wendy thinks Gene Hackman is kind of scary. Not to me.However, that's what she thinks.

Obviously, "Monster" is in the eyes of the beholder. Below are two cues I have/had for sale at AZ. I called the one Monster or Big or something like that. The other one I didn't. I don't think I was out of line referring to the Josey as a Monster. All the white is except the ferrules is ivory and I don't believe you need to understand the details of cue making to accept the workmanship and the enormous number of hours it took to make that cue. The second cue is a plain jane Blackcreek. Even though I think most would agree it is a beautiful cue and represents a good eye and workmanship by the maker, I don't see how that could be called a monster. The last cue is from Worminator's site, a Tonkin. Perhaps that fits your definition of a Monster. I struggle to fathom how anyone wouldn't consider that a Monster cue but of course, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

When it gets down to it, what does it matter? If the viewer doesn't think it is a monster cue, don't look at the thread again. Certainly, don't buy the cue. Same thing with a poster or a thread topic. Don't like it, don't view it. You can even put the poster on ignore.

I almost started a post just like this....

I wish folks would learn, and post correclty. I often times want to post in there thread and bash them for waisting my time. But i take note of the seller, and now i don't look at anything they post. F'em.

That Tonkin is just stunning

Just be clear, that Tonkin cue is Jamie's, not mine (I wish it were mine). I've seen it in person, I'm not sure there are adequate words to describe how beautiful that cue is. Was using it to make my point. I think I could be forgiven for calling my Josey a monster, however, when side by side with the Tonkin, I guess it really isn't a Monster.

heres one for you, i think this is a monster??

The funny part to me is the ones that hit a ton but have never been chalked, must be some kind of Osmois thing that just lets these seller know it hits a ton with out really playing with the cue.

I looked under my bed one night, scared out of my mind before going to sleep, and there was a Balabushka staring me right in the face... Monsters are real.

I was just trying to male a funny about the price thing as I do firmly that anyone should feel free to ask whatever they want for their item but a lot of the things they post in add really makes me laugh.

Monster cues only play lights out and they hit a ton.
Monster cues are also only sold from trustworthy sellers and you better believe that the sellers friends can attest for the ton that it hits.
However, fear not! All monster cues have only been test hit and chalked once!

I test drive all my cues that I have for sale..................................
Just because you cant see the chalk on the tip doesn't mean someone didn't chalk it, test drive it then chuck it up in a lathe and razor trim the tip so it looks unchalked and new.
