Monster female players

Pro - Allison Fisher has been dominate for so long. Pan and Oachan are up and coming.

Amatuer - Michelle Rakin, when she finishes college she will show the world just how talented she is.

All Time - Jean Balukas, it is just a shame she did not continue playing longer than she did.

Best Amateur

I'm not sure about the rest of the country but in the intermountain states
Juanita Brown (Ace Brown's wife) has dominated women's pool for the past 15 year's. On any given day she might be near the top in the country on a bar box. Also gives alot of the guys fits for the cash.

If you take the pool stipulation out then I would venture to say that all of them have. :D

lmfao.

although i don't want to think about it. it shatters my dreams...

Pros:

I gotta say Allison....just all-around strong and steady, and has the best credentials to prove it. My personal favorite.

The asian women, bunch allthe names together. They just come with somthing different. More fluid/loose and fun to watch. They can hit gears at any given time and play strong safeties.

Amatuer/Semi-Pro:

Michelle Rakin, by far. I'm not sure how her game is today...but I can almost guarantee that she will never "lose it". From what I saw, and I've been priviledged to watch a lot of women play, she can play on that different level. She has that extra something that the other amateurs don't. Big break, good finesse, creative, plays great safeties, good nerves, humble yet competitive...and her skills are natural. I hope to see her in the future still playing and eventually being a top pro too.

Jeannie Seaver. But I don't know if she is playing anymore....very similar to Michelle...both are very powerful players....I think Jeannie was so laid-back in nature that at times her playing lacked intensity. But, when she was in that zone is was a great thing to watch.

Off the back this is what I thought.

Bonnie Plowman seems to be pretty steady on the bar box. She isnt too well known on either coast I dont think.

Amalia Matos? ;)

Brian

Is she about 5'5" or 5'6", about 23 to 25 years old and has a punkish hairdo?

If it is her, don't tell her I said anything negative about her stroke. She might hunt me down, offer me the 8 and beat me like a rented mule.:D

GYK is capabale of hitting a high gear that most female pros have never seen before.

Semi-pro
I only know about here in Florida. There are several up and coming players - most notably Jeannie Seaver and Michelle Monk. Jeannie is falling back in love with the game after a long break - Keep an eye on her - she's got a heart as big as all outdoors.

Jeannie Seaver came real close to being World Champion in 2006. It was in the 1/4 finals of the WPC in Taiwan and she was running out from everywhere and up 3-0 on GYK. Ga Young was in her chair with her lips so tightly clenched they were turning white. Jeannie breaks, makes a ball and scratches. Ga Young runs out and takes control and wins 7-5 I think. GYK goes on to drill Kajatani and Shin Mei Liu who both played badly the last 2 matches.

If Jeannie hadnt scratched that break but gone on to beat GYK as it looked she would, based on my observation she likely would have won it all. Then what does she do shortly after-quits competing/playing. Only in pool.:(

I once saw Jeannie Seaver in Manila looking for some action (Side Pocket).. Her cousin walked up to me and asked if I wanted to play Jeannie for some dough.. I didn't take the bait..coz a couple of days before, I saw Jeannie playing Allison on TV and they were going at it toe to toe..(ahhh thanks to ESPN re-runs, helped me save some dough..):D

Who are the best lady pool players out there?

Pro

Semi-pro

Amateur

Current and past

BB and Big table

All time Pros
Allison Fisher is in a class by herself. Ranked #1 in 12 of the last 13 WPBA seasons and winning more than half the WPBA events she has ever played in is a record that I sometimes wonder whether people fully appreciate. Given the tougher competition, I think her record in women's pro pool is far, far superior to that of Jean Balukas.

Karen Corr has always been a wonderful player, but still cannot be viewed quite on a par with Allison. Ruth McGuiness is probably next best, having run in the 130's in straight pool. Loree Jon Jones, Robin Dodson, Ewa Laurance, Hsin Mei Liu, and Dorothy Wise, great players all of them, are not, in my view, even in the conversation.

Current Pros
Allsion is still the best, but not by much. Allison Fisher, Karen Corr, Ga Young Kim, and Xiaoting Pan are the ones to reckon with and there's not that much to separate them at present, with Jasmin Ouschan and Kelly Fisher not far behind. Monica Webb, despite continued excellence, doesn't have the titles to be in the conversation.

I will leave the matter of semi-pros and amateurs to others, while taking note of a great semi-pro of the 1990's named Julie Mason.
