Mooch List

As the DCC is upon us and we prepare to watch The Action Report. I have decided to come up with a mooch list. This list will comprise all the people who watch the free feed half the week and dont buy the PPV for the rest of the week.

Nothing bothers me more than people always trying to get something for free. I was with these guys at the open and it isnt easy. If you want to watch great pool in the future we need to support these guys. I know I will get some heat for this but so be it.

BTW - If we support them now everything might be free in the future so a few dollars spent now may go a long way to saving you money in the long run.

We appreciate the support but history has proven that these types of threads never work out well. :D

We would love to do the whole thing for free but right now that is not an option. Hopefully people who watch the free coverage will see enough of a value that if they have the time to watch the PPV they will buy in.

We know not everyone has the time or inclination to watch something when there is no set schedule. Some just don't want to fool with the PPV for any reason and that is perfectly fine.

We have been very lucky in that there is a group of people who go out of their way to support everything TAR does and that has made some pretty cool things possible. We just want everyone to join us for whatever time they can and enjoy the greatest gathering of action players in the world.

You know im kidding

I would never waste my time doing such a thing. I just want people to think a little about their actions and try and support you guys. That's it.

I might as well fess up. I never bought a PPV. Prob never will either, can't sit at the computer fo 30 min, much less hours...

You are probably in the majority. The streaming thing is definitely not for everyone. You should check out the Derby Coverage if you get a chance though it is different than anything else we do, or anyone else does, the rest of the year.

6K post and the best you can come up with is you can't sit in front of the the computer for 30 min?

I am all for TAR pay for view. I lose all my extra cash playing and might as well pay to watch someone else lose. I am working on a plan to keep my wife from catching me. It is not easy being easy.

zzzzzzzzzzzzing!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never purchased a PPV as I don't really like to sit at my computer for hours on end and watch my monitor when I can be watching my 53" big screen. I do however tune in to streams for a half-hour here and there just to see what's going on. On the other side of the coin, I have purchased a few DVD sets from TAR and am planning on purchasing another as well as a shirt or two at the DCC in a few weeks. So, I'll probably show up as a "freeloader" online, but I do support TAR in other ways.

My first inclination was to give you a bad rep. I chose to respond to your post instead. There is more than one way to support TAR. I have purchased thier products in the past however, I will not buy the pay per view. This product is not really suited for my needs. I'm away from home most of the time. If they are offering a free feed and it's on when I get home later on at night I'm going to watch it till I fall asleep. It's free!!

If someone offers something for free then there are no strings attached. They are not offering it on the condition we purchase the feed.

Who the hell are you to judge others for the use of a free feed? What do you know of thier circumstances? What made your offal less smelly than the rest of us?

Perhaps you could spend your time doing more worthy things than checking up on other peoples business.

PPV will not work on my computer. I have tried twice and all I get is the pic changing every 10 seconds. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess I will have to show up in person:thumbup:

oh, c'mon... you don't think that's a solid business model he just suggested?

Go on the premier forum for billiards, call all your current and potential customers "mooches" if they dare watch any free coverage. Get the IP's of all those losers that are logged in, resolve them back to geographical areas and compare to users that login that night and then compile a list and publicly humilate them on the forum.

Call them free loaders, mooches and losers until they feel so guilty and ashamed, that they purchase some DVD's or events even if that means they put off paying a bill or purchasing little Johnny's medicine for a month.

Then you will give everything away free in the future.

I'm thinking he might be onto something. That kind of approach used in all areas of the market, could very well revive the economy.

I think you need to rethink what your doing.....

You put out a excellent product, you drum up great matches and stream it live and put together a DVD afterwards of it, you are a godsend to the pool world for what you do, you stream some live matches to allow people to see what your offering and whet their appetite for more. You have excellent word of mouth on your products.

YOUR WHOLE CONCEPT IS FLAWED

You need to listen to this guy's idea if you want to be successful :D

Have fun at the DCC this year... I wanted to go very badly, but Harrah's was offering a FREE Room to me ( I think they thought if they gave me a free room, I would give some of my money to them in other ways)

but I hate being called a "mooch", so politely declined their offer:rolleyes:

This is kinda funny. I have bought ppv's, but may not this time. I have to care about who is playing in order to purchase. Does this mean I should never check out the free stream, and find out who is going to play on ppv? For the record, I would usually be there, but decided not to go this year, and if it goes well at the new venue, then I will go next. Guess I just wanted to state that I might end up being a "mooch" this year, lol.

Well JCIN if worse comes to worse at least you can count on having at least one AZer purchase the pay per view "just about a" should be the first person sending in his/her payment.

In addition I think you will find many others following his lead and encouragement via this thread.

Thanks for the great job you guys perform. Keep up the good work.

I feel similarly to you in the fact that I wish more people would purchase the streams when they can. It is something that a large # of people enjoy or there wouldn't be such interest when the stream is free. I however do not think the way you worded your post will gather you the support you set out to get. Unfortunately, people get offended when you question their character, religion, political affiliation and in the case of many, their frugality.

I have purchased every PPV they have done because I enjoy it. The reason the #'s of viewers has grown to what they are is because people are having a good time watching the streams. They took a chance for a small fee to see if they would enjoy it and many became repeat viewers because they saw it was well worth the price. The chat alone is worth the cost of the feed. In the free stream you have a large # of anonymous chat trolls but on the PPV it is much easier to ask questions or just chit-chat.

I hope that everyone enjoys the coverage and chooses to buy the feed because they are enjoying the coverage, not because they feel guilt. Give it a shot, you just might like it.

I think we all would love it if everyone who watched the free stream would support the PPV. But, how many of us watch NFL on Sunday but don't buy the NFL package? How many of us watch Friday Night Fights, but not buy the De La Hoya Pacquiao fight? Not everyone can support monetarily, even in good economic times.

Fred <~~~ donates, purchases, supports

I got got a problem with the OP's statements on this thread. I have just plain old donated to TAR, I have purchased their PPV now if i just go on there but don't feel like purchasing the PPV I am going to be publicly ridiculed. This is nonsense!

Hey I understand some of you guys getting pissed if you think there are moochers out there, but, what if the free stream is part of TAR's marketing to get people to watch the PPV. I mean like the first year I watched the DCC I would not have even tried it if it wasn't free. I have spent money with TAR because of my first experience. So there is a possibilty that the OP is actually harming TAR by inhibiting people from watching the free stream who might not have otherwise sign up for the PPV.

I surely don't want to feel obligated if I am being offered free stream. It really isn't free if you have to be TARred and feathered now is it!
