We appreciate the support but history has proven that these types of threads never work out well.
We would love to do the whole thing for free but right now that is not an option. Hopefully people who watch the free coverage will see enough of a value that if they have the time to watch the PPV they will buy in.
We know not everyone has the time or inclination to watch something when there is no set schedule. Some just don't want to fool with the PPV for any reason and that is perfectly fine.
We have been very lucky in that there is a group of people who go out of their way to support everything TAR does and that has made some pretty cool things possible. We just want everyone to join us for whatever time they can and enjoy the greatest gathering of action players in the world.
oh, c'mon... you don't think that's a solid business model he just suggested?
Go on the premier forum for billiards, call all your current and potential customers "mooches" if they dare watch any free coverage. Get the IP's of all those losers that are logged in, resolve them back to geographical areas and compare to users that login that night and then compile a list and publicly humilate them on the forum.
Call them free loaders, mooches and losers until they feel so guilty and ashamed, that they purchase some DVD's or events even if that means they put off paying a bill or purchasing little Johnny's medicine for a month.
Then you will give everything away free in the future.
I'm thinking he might be onto something. That kind of approach used in all areas of the market, could very well revive the economy.
I think you need to rethink what your doing.....
You put out a excellent product, you drum up great matches and stream it live and put together a DVD afterwards of it, you are a godsend to the pool world for what you do, you stream some live matches to allow people to see what your offering and whet their appetite for more. You have excellent word of mouth on your products.
YOUR WHOLE CONCEPT IS FLAWED
You need to listen to this guy's idea if you want to be successful
Have fun at the DCC this year... I wanted to go very badly, but Harrah's was offering a FREE Room to me ( I think they thought if they gave me a free room, I would give some of my money to them in other ways)
but I hate being called a "mooch", so politely declined their offer
