moori med replacements? any?

Mooris have been around for some time, and still many pros still stick to them, they seem to have a solid firm hit, with very nice feedback in the hit, don't have the clicking sound either, but the new ones seem to glaze over and you're constantly using a tip pic to get it to hold chalk. Not like the old ones, where you can chalk up ever 2-3 shots.

I have tried Wizards, and found them not bad but a little to hard for me, and other layered tips give me that clicking sound, that drives me nuts.

Whats the closest tip to the Moori med? I haven't used Talisman m pro is a long time... how are those tips these days?

any other recomendations? I just might stick to pressed Elkmasters... pretty hard to beat for the $.
 
Try the Kamui Black Medium tip or the Regular Kamui Medium-Soft.
The Blackjack Medium tip might work for you as well.
 
Ive been trying the Hercules hard tips, and those are pretty good. They make them in medium too, so you might give them a try.

try the Tiger Sniper, or tiger "soft" which is not really that soft lol, I've heard the Everest tips are good too.......

Sniper tips are the cats ass though
 
I've bounced between medium Moori's and Everest tips for awhile now. The Moori has a slight edge in my opinion.
 
i used moori mediums for years and they went to crap. i switched last week to a kamui black medium and it hits fantastic. it was way better than wat i expected. really solid and very responsive, probably be sticking with it for a long time.
 
I use wizard mediums now, but since you dont really like them , try kamui med. soft, they are good just expensive. And everest are good also, But I love the wizards, I dont think the play hard, maybe different in the bunch , but I have them on 4 different cue's and they have a nice hit the same to each except for feedback do to different shafts <<ED
 
I've juggled between mooris, talismans and triangles. To be honest, I prefer the triangle in most cases because they always seem to feel the same brand new and wear very well with little to no mushrooming. The only problem I've had with them is that they can get a little shiny which makes them not hold chalk as well.
 
I'd like to ask you guys about a few tips and throw them into the suggestion or rejection mix.

Being an old schooler, I pretty much still reach into my million yr. old box of Le Pros when I have to retip. I'll admit they are inconsistent tips.

Recently I picked up that lathe setup that American Cowboy sells and I got the urge to experiment a bit now that I'm not rolling shafts on my thighs to shape tips anymore.

While I'm willing to experiment, I'm not willing to start spending 15 bucks a tip yet, so I asked Bob at American Cowboy for a few middle of the road suggestions and he suggested a few,and I bought two of each.

Hercules medium, Black Diamonds and Karomi. Does anyone know how any of these fit into the mix of good or bad tip choices?

edit, btw, I'm 90% a straight pool or one pocket player. Thanks ...

If you've tried the Wizards and don't care for them, I would suggest a Talisman medium, maybe even a soft. I have used the softs and was quite impressed. If you want something totally different, I have a new batch of Milk Duds hot off the press. Send me your address and I'll send you one, just because its friday and I'm in a good mood.
