I will start. I am going with Efren. Although he did not play that good today, he still managed to get through. I believe he will win because he has more experience than Morris in championship matches. He has been there a lot more times before.

Rodney's most memorable win in his career to date was his 11-6 beating of Efren in the finals of the 1996 US open 9-ball event.

On paper, tomorrow's final couldn't be more even. Each player is 20-7 with a 61% winning percentage (each will play one more meaningless match tonight). Their match today went double hill. I say they'll go double hill again tomorrow, with Efren pulling it out this time.

Should be quite a final!

the big E will sing with glee

i like him to win by the hair on his chinny-chin-chin

Id like to see Rodney win it. But if I was a betting man it would be on Efren.

so far it is a tie at 3 all. It appears though that a lot of people are considering Efren as an underdog for tomorrow's game.

I remember though that in the last IPT tournament, Manalo won more games and was playing better than Hohmann before the finals. If I remember correctly, Hohmann was in danger of being eliminated and was just lucky enough to be in the finals. We all know who won. I guess we will just have to wait for tomorrow.

Can't bet against Efren. Even though Rodney is running more racks, the safe bet is Efren. He is the number one IPT player even if the payouts claim otherwise after tomorrow. He won KOTH, 4th in the NAO, and now a guaranteed second.

Only Mika, Manalo and Orcollo have appeared twice in the final six. Efren is the dominating player in the IPT and the man to beat. Who would have ever thought that? lol

If this is one race to 8 then it's anyones game, one strange roll or some bad luck and your toast, not really a good test of skills. Should be at least 2 sets of race to 8, with a 3 game tie breaker if they tie after 2 sets.

That being said, Morris is super hot right now, he should win if he can keep the nerves under control. Reyes is always dangerous no matter how he is playing, he just always does what ever he needs to do to win, and has been in this spotlight many more times.

I'm hoping Morris wins, Efren has enough money and titles.:D and Morris would make it an emotional ending that will make for great TV.

I change my vote :) Rodney will take it. An American needs to win this one. We seem to have a black eye in the pool world. A win against the best in the world will get us a couple rungs higher on the ladder.

Put me down for a bag of sand on Rodney ;)

Rodney is too hot to bet against IMO. He had another 5 run outs in a match this round.

Realistically it could go either way though, but I'm taking Rodney.

I like Rodney.. I like his break over Efren's and that is what it is going to take to snap the 500K. Good Luck Rodney.. go USA

It will be a Great match either way. But would have to side with the more experienced Reyes to win.

It's a shame that the IRS will rip that $500k in half before the winner even gets to look at it in the bank :(

Is that Morris' cornerman? He looks Filipino.

heart and mind

First, I'd like to say that these are the two I would've hoped to be in the finals, because they are my favorites of the 6 players....not because of ability alone, but because of their personalities.....they are good-natured people who deserve to win, IMHO.......that said, my heart wants Morris to win, but my mind says Reyes will......but I'll be happy with whoever wins ......so as far as I'm concerned, it's a WIN-WIN situation.......Congratulations to Rodney and Efren.........

i would naturally bet on efren... he's the best and smartest player ever, and i think he'll be able to handle the pressure better than rodney. it'll be tough though because morris is a great player... i'm happy he made it this far, good for him.
