Mosconi Cup 2012 Day (4) Discussion

HOLY CRAP, I wish Jay would get off Dennis a bit !

Me too, its seems like Jay HAS to prove that hes not a homer so hes extra hard on the american. He was riding hatch pretty hard after every miss but wasnt nearly as tough on Nick after he missed.

Hatch complaining about the equipment. I am sorry, but when you are at that level you should already know how to handle the equipment. Appleton runs out like water on the same table.

Good interview by Hatch

Really set the context pretty well.

He struggled, for sure, but a win is a win.

Come on boys!

Did they make them switch shirts? I liked it when the American team used to wear Red/White and Blue shirts.

I would like to think Matchroom gave warning about being biased towards the USA for Jay & Jerry, cause they sure are commentating like they are for team Europe.

I'm guessing that Jay tries to compensate in his commentary to not sound like he's favoring the Americans, but I think he may be overcompensating because he does sound like he's favoring the Europeans (at least he did to me in the Hatch match just now).

FWIW I don't think Jerry and Jay are hired to be for or against either team.

exactly. So he should be equally hard on both of them. If dennis had fired that bankshot on the 3 at warp speed and missed like nick did. jay wouldve rode him pretty hard for not going for the safe.

I don't want to, but I have to agree. To be honest it started to bother me.
When Jay called him a kitten, I turned off the volume. It was very unusual broadcast, sounded what European commentators would be saying. When Nick fired the full table bank I heard nothing but he is agressive. If it was Dennis it might have been ugly. Dennis was winning the whole match, and very little critisim of the European player who obviously made more errors.
