MOSCONI CUP 2023 AZB Watch Party / Master Thread

Shane struggles to get through the next rack and has to make a difficult cut on the eight to get to the nine. 2-1 USA
 
Matchroom may want to consider expanding the Mosconi Cup to the rest of the world. The teams playing at it will have to earn their way there. Would be a better show then what we are seeing this year.
 
Game 4

Filler breaks, making the 1 in the side and the 9 nearly followed it in, and the 3 also dropped. He's good on the 2 - instead, he plays a tough 2-9 combo in the side and makes it.

Score 2-2.

Every table with new cloth takes that ball. If he didn’t cheat the pocket, he runs into a ball. Since I’ve been here, a couple of balls have dropped that were hit much worse (and didn’t need to be).
 
Game 5

Shane breaks, making the 1 and the 7 in the same side pocket but the 4 and 8 are tied up on the long rail. He's perfect on the 2 but will need to deal with that cluster. He gets the perfect angle on the 3 and breaks up the cluster while leaving a decent cut on the 4 into the side. He drills it in, forcing perfect shape on the 5. Getting on the 6 is the last challenge, and he plays it perfectly. He's on fire, and should be out. The 9 drops.

Game 6

Filler breaks dry, leaving a good look at the one and an open table.

Shane drills the 1 with pace and gets good short-side on the 2. Getting on the 3 will be tough, but Shane is up to the task. 5 to the 6 will be tricky, but he gets perfect on the 5 so now the 6 to the 7 is the last challenge. He cuts the six in the corner and goes across and back for perfect shape on the 7. He's playing fast and loose, love it. He drops the last 3 balls.

Score 4-2, USA is on the hill.

Even though I'm watching live, I still read your rack recaps lol. Great work and spot on gameplay analysis.
