Mosconi Cup 2024, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, Orlando

I've said it before many times, Marcal is not a good referee I am sorry if he's your friend. I swear like 4-5 times that came up where he has bad calls either called a foul on good shot or called good shot on a foul and here's why...I also stated the reason in the past.

The guy comes too close to the balls to eye-balling it, i.e. he stares at the ball to identify if its a foul or good hit... this is the worst way to check for a foul really. I can tell if its a foul or not by looking at the reaction of the cueball ALL THE TIME. I can literally tell you if its a foul or not by seeing what the cueball does, even if i'm a mile away. and that referee does NOT do that ever. It's a shame people yes-manning him either cause theyre his friend or maybe he comes from snooker background.

Just look at the goddamn cueball, it tells the whole story.

You can never eye-ball to make a call, ever, its the wrong way of doing it.

The break shot is one of those extremes I was referring to earlier.

I'm mostly talking about shots like the jump shot Sky scratched on against Shaw down 2-0. That's not a bad roll. What else would you expect to happen in that situation when the balls make contact in the way they did?

Anyways, I'm done derailing. If people want to continue to have a loser mentality and blame things on "rolls" Have at it.
There's a difference between totally blaming your fate on rolls and pretending they don't exist.

The goal should just be recognizing that they are a part of the game and to accept the good ones with the bad ones.

In short races rolls can determine the outcome.
In the long run, they even out.
Such is life.

How many years has this game been around, and people still blame "bad rolls"?

They don't exist.

Barring certain extremes, the balls will always behave exactly as they should. It's physics.
A bad roll doesn't mean the balls defy the laws of physics.... It means they behave in a way that the players can't be expected to predict, or that something happens the players don't intend. When Mikey Krause missed the ball in the side and it went two rails into the other side, that's a roll even though it doesn't break any laws of physics...

Mickey called foul on himself when Marcel did not see it. Kid is too honest. He shouldn't be a politician or pool player :ROFLMAO::LOL:

Hats off to Mickey Krouse for calling the foul on himself. I was there yesterday and the crowd was brutal on him. He has handled his first Mosconi with class. I've grown to appreciate him this year. GO USA!!!
