Wuhu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worminator said:US players do not convert individual sports into team sports well. The same thing happens in the Ryder Cup. Euros seem to thrive on this type of competition. The US always tends to excel when the Ryder Cup turns to individual matches...that is how we are programed in individual sports.
I would much rather see some $25K individual TAR matches between US and European players than watch the Mosconi Cup.

Congrats on team Europe for their win in these short races to 5....
LOL!!!

I'm sure the crowd was taunting him (as usual) Some of it is "percieved" and amplified by earl, some of it is actually rude, insulting, and designed to get a reaction.
He does fill seats! What he did to Drago is a perfect example of why people pay and stay to watch him play( didn't mean to ryme so well) I love Earl, he's a fine player, VERY volatile! But we all know that, Team USA knows that... it is what it is. I DO think that the Europeans take a great deal of joy in TRYING to get him to go off. Unfortunately he ususally doesn't disappoint
BTW I think Mika played him extraordinarily well, BUT I still can't stand that guy (flavored with a little personal history) IMO he's not NEARLY as nice as he tries to come off
Flame away!

Total game score, after 16 matches: 68-50 to Europe.
tigerseye said:Still a joke of a format....Not a joke that they won....I mean we fly halfway around the world just to come over and play you guys for a freakin race to 5?? U got to admit that is no test.... They might as well have been flippin quarters...![]()

Aw, let the Europeans bask in the sun with their mini triumph. After all, the Americans have won the Mosconi Cup 10 -- I repeat 10 -- times, with the Europeans winning it a paltry 4 -- I repeat 4 -- times. :nanner:
Matter of fact, the more I think about it, how the European horn tooters rave about how strong the Europeans are compared to Americans, the more I laugh.
United States is one country. Europe is how many countries? It takes all those countries in Europe to tackle one country? Let them eat cake!

Now the tide has turned, Europe is winning the Mosconi and claiming world titles. In stead of being gracious both when winning and losing, some posters here really make an ass of themselves, and suddenly start to put more emphasis in the overall historical score or complaining about the short races. Pathetic.
Why not accept it, try to work harder and come back on the winning track again? I am sure US again could be a powerhouse in pool if players and organisations worked together. There are much more poolplayers in USA than all the countries in Europe together, so just start looking for fresh talent.
I agree. All we have to do is get our best players on the team, just like Europe had.pooladdict said:Why not accept it, try to work harder and come back on the winning track again? Seriously i have the utmost respect for thier winning but the race format is pathetic....
As for us could be powerhouse poolplayers again speech??....i beg to differ my friend... There is only one powerhouse poolplayers and that is phillipinos and then we are a close 2nd.

Most of the time Europe did lose, because the Americans were better. But did you hear any Europeans who have called the Mosconi Cup for a joke, mini triumph etc just because Europe lost???
Most Europeans loves the Mosconi Cup. The players in both Europe and USA LOVE it, and it is broadcasted live in Europe, and we look at it as a major event. Instead of complaining about short races etc, Europe has climbed back, became better than Team USA, and is now winning the tournament.
Oh well. You people who are whining and complaining have not got the message. Europe is getting stronger in pool every day, winning world titles and major tournaments. Europe will continue to do so, and it will not be as "easy" as it was for the American's to win the prestigous Mosconi Cup anymore.
Newton said:Show me. I guess there is one which you would pull out and that's Roy which is putting side bets on the matches and have a lot of friends up here which he jokes with.
Race to 5? What was it in the old day's than? In case, just bring the old format back again and we're done.
I'm out'a hear. I surrender, I give up.
The matches was unfair, the US team was the best but because the noise was putting them off they did not play good, the European players where always lucky with the breaks, and the audience was all Norwegians shouting, with trumpet horns.

Roy Steffensen said:You forgot:
The American's had to travel half around the world, had jetlag etc (Just like Mika, the MVP, btw)
Matchroom Sports picked the American team (just like they did with Team Europe. Mark Gray was picked in front of for example Darren Appleton)
Europeans are more used to play Team Events. (But the Europeans didn't manage to win the Mosconi Cup more than once the first 10 years)
