Mosconi Cup dumping by Europe?

So, watching Vandenberg v. Thorpe, rack 2 and 3 (so far). NVB overcuts the 6 ball to the side and way overhits the cb to get long on the 7. The 6 flukes into another pocket, so NVB cuts the 7 in but takes a path like he's looking to scratch in the side pocket. Then, under cuts the 8 (to hang it?) but it goes in. Next rack, NVB plays a long 1 ball into the corner and draws the cb into the opposite corner pocket.

Then, theres the previous match where Shaw switches to a center table break (when everyone's been breaking from the side and making balls), breaks head on, spreads 'em nice and makes nothing, giving Hatch/Dominguez a chance to run out.

So, are we trying to get the to day 4??

Eric >and...go

VDB just missed ball in hand on the 7 lol. Maybe they sense the mosconi cup franchise could be in jeopardy if Europe keeps winning so handily...

Rack 4, Vandenberg v Thorpe:

NVB has ball in hand on the 7, the 7 ball is 2 feet from the corner pocket. NVB overcuts the 7 and misses.

If you’re dumping, you’re not going to miss that shot.

By the book, no.

Then again, excluding that shot, the rest of the match is full of odd shot choices, bad position and poor speed control by NVB. I'm not sure NVB shoots this bad on his worst days, lol.

Everyone here thinks the same thing.

NVD hasn't been playing well through the whole cup. Why would you think today is for dumping? It's like the rest of it.

And Jayson Shaw has missed more shots this set than he did all tournament at the Us Open.

And he whiffed a ball to boot. But Shane giving it back.

As it is every year, this is obviously an exhibition. The extreme dogging of shots and position was evident just when you expected it (if you know what to look for). As far as the players' behavior, creating fan animosity, and the staged outrage by the opponents, is encouraged. No surprise. BTW IMO, the tables sucked for all players.
