Mosconi cup on MSG

Over the past year I've been freelancing at a local NYC network called MSG. Stands for Madison Square Garden... it's the local home of New York Knicks and New York Rangers games. I recently accepted a full time position there as an art director/graphic designer/animator. I create graphics for NY Knicks/NY Rangers/NJ Devils/NY Islanders/NY Redbulls/NY Liberty games. As well as other programing and promos for the network.

They all know Im a pool player and I've been barking about putting pool on tv over the past year to anyone and everyone that will listen, well apparently someone listened. Today they broadcasted the Mosconi Cup. Im pretty excited about it. I'm not taking credit by any means, but Im simply excited that something was done to put pool on my network.
 
I also havn't been around AZ Billiards for the past few months. I've been focusing on my family and taking a break from pool. Other than playing in a weekly league that I've committed to, I havn't really practiced or played in any tournaments for months. I miss my friends I've made at AZ and I'll be back. Im sure a few people will like that and even more will hate that lol. Oh darn. Well, I'm still alive and kicking.
 
That's pretty cool news. Hopefully they will do it for more events and maybe one day live events. Keep the pressure on them Cleary
 
I went to msg.com and there is no indication of any pool anything.

Any chance of sharing the how to get the video or streaming video or supply a link?

Msg. Nyc

They have been showing the 2011 Mosconi cup for the last couple of months.
They have Been running it like a series showing matches once or twice a week first team to win 11 matches takes the title.
I must say the coverage is excellent. It opens with some cool music and fancy editing really gets you pumped to watch some great pool.
They then start the show with a recap of the prior match show the standings
And introduce the players for the match you are about to watch.
Great crowd Support real good camera work, good announcers very exciting. Also from time to time they show some of the Classic Mosconi cup matches from past years.
IMO---
The team concept works very well for pool on tv. 2 teams battling it out
your country vs there's.
the player and the crowd really get into it --- players wearing team colors a referee great lighting it looks and feels like professional sports event which is what it is
very good for the game of pool. Hope they continue to cover events like this.

Ive said this time and again... If you want pool to be popular and more accepted by the gerenal public the Mosconi Cup is the answer. Team USA (F YEAH!!!!) against those smelly tea sipping fog breathers for the CUP!!! The Ryder Cup for pool. What gun toten hot dog eating budweiser drinking American not cheer for his country's team?? Yes sir... If ESPN broadcasted this event pool would be a smash hit!! Only problem is is that it has to be in York hall because (unfortunately) the US crowd is boring in compairson to the home crowd at York Hall. With all those punters drinks pints and screaming I would tremble at the table. The room has an energy I can feel from my computer desk :clapping:

Yeah bro keep on pushing it on them!! Get some of the big wigs to watch the Cup back in 2010. By far soem of the best pool ive ever watched hands down!!

totally agree. i think not only being able to root for your country but having an enthusiastic live audience makes it easier to actually care about the outcome. any other sport would be hard to watch if it were dead silent the whole time, same with pool for the average viewer. anyway, thanks cleary that rules
 
I live in wash, dc and you are going to make me a knick fan.

I would love to buy a hat or jersey design you worked on as my personal way of support. You may not work in that medium but would love to be able to say our forum member did that! What ever that maybe???
