Ralf shot that combination because it's much easier to go from the 4 ball to the 6 ball then to go from the 4 to the 5 to the 6.

Jay asked a question to why Ralf shot the 2-5 combo, it was because its easier to go to the 6 from the 4 instead of going to the 4 then to the 5 which was on the end rail and then the 6 which was not in the best spot.

Also, I thought that America provided the majority of the ground troops who entered Germany and forced the surrender of the Nazis..

I believe you are right. I went with a girl whose father strung wire across
France in the signal corps. When the war ended in Europe, he and some
friends volunteered for the Pacific 'cause they hadn't fought yet.
They were sent back to Canada for retraining but the war ended.....
...so they got home long before the rest of their company.

Mosconi Cup is pool, nothing else. If we are looking for a combination of boxing/ street fighting or any other individual contact sport combined with pool. No one of the 10 great pool players we have in this cup, should participate.

Anyway not impressed by what RM did during their double match. Sportmanship is important to raise this sport to the level where it belongs.
