Mosconi Cup Updates

USA did what exactly needed to be done in the first two matches. Great play from Dechaine. That win should really boost his confidence. And if it does look out because he could get on a tear.

"After one race to six I have learned that Mike D is a world better and Ralf S sucks." Who Knew? Mike Thumps Ralf 6-1

Chief, Relax...you either don't understand sarcasm or can't read a full post. You just read one line and start puking out of your mouth.

I believe Mike just shot a 1000 by way of accu stats? The 1 shot that was questionable was when he was playing for the 6 or the safe on the 6, not sure if he could have gotten on it? Hats off to the rookie there, big match.

Dechaine's break was legal? I thought 3 balls had to go or pass the head string and it looked to me like he made the one and only the three ball crossed the head string. The 8 didn't quite get there but nobody said anything so I'm a little confused.

A ball made counts as a ball by the headstring also, so if you make one only 2 have to go by.

Joe, that's what I thought so why wasn't an illegal break called? From the overhead view the 8 ball seemed to stop short of crossing the line and only the 3 went over in addition to the one going down. It was a pretty soft break so maybe I'm wrong but I don't think a ball went across then came back out - but I guess this must have been what happened because Michaela certainly would have called it and if not her then Ralf surely would have.

I saw her and Mike both looking at it from opposite sides of the table, I think maybe it just have to touch the line.

That's gotta be it. I assume the 8 was touching the line, which counts.

Very, very tough match next up for the U.S.

Mike was awesome

Mike Dechaine is going to be a big part of the future of American pool. The kid is a champion in the making. He has confidence and is handling the pressure very well.

I don't thing the USA have a good chance to win this match, Chris Melling and Appleton are a really well thought out team, their games compliment each other perfectly and they are possibly the best doubles team that the Europe side could produce.

Appleton is a good player but man does he get some love!! Last year was the same thing. We were calling him Darren "fluke it in" Appleton.
