Colin Colenso said:Actually your diagram is quite a bit off with the CB position. The shot was closer to the image below:
btw: The shot is probably 20mph. A speed most players are capable of. Just most wouldn't be game to try this shot. Almost any decent player can make this exact same shot. The unusual curve after the rail is simply due to the fast cloth. Most tables the curve will come before it hits the side rail.
I could play the same shot and I could play it 20% harder, as I believe Cory could. It is not proof of super power...just a lovely power shot.

Nevel and Deueul Power Stroking
And incidentally, I'm a nobody, but this is what I posted a few moons ago. Check out the first shot.

drivermaker said:LMAO...NO CHANCE!! Colin only plays blackboard pool...wei table pool...or daydream pool. He NEVER misses and can make every shot on the table...ALL without aiming!!

The reason you rarely see a CB curve the way his did is because most players rarely get to play on a brand new slick 860 simonis. That shot cannot be replicated with the some CB angle on the tables I play on here.LastTwo said:Yeah you're right, the cueball was to the right a bit. I was tired when I posted that. Anyways, even on fast cloth that slides alot that shot is hard to pull off. Most players can't hit the cueball as accurately as Corey did at that speed. You are saying you can do the same shot, I won't believe you until you post a video of you doing it. For those of you who haven't seen the shot, you can watch it for free in the Corey vs Mika match on BCN. Just fast forward to 41:00 and you will see the crazy shot.

I just got a small camera. I don't get to practice much but I'm not scared to show I can make shots that I claim. Some good players here should support me as I'm sure they can make that shot with a few whacks.
I never said I could do it as often as Cory. He made it first attempt, sign of a great pro shotmaker. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a shock at the trajectory the CB took.
It's a similar effect to a common trick shot played extremely well by Mike Masse. He draws 3/4 into the rail, and the spin takes after the rail, masseing around a ball and into the corner pocket.

LastTwo said:Yeah, I thought it was Nevel until I saw Deuel pull off this shot.
It measures 44" X 88"Opie said:Hal, what size table is that?
I wasn't acting anything. That assumes I am stretching the truth, and I certainly wasn't saying it is an easy shot, it is an advanced shot, but makable by decent players with a few attempts. It is only a percentage shot for a few top players.LastTwo said:Eh, you were acting like that shot is easy to pull off. Post up some videos of that big stroke of yours, I wanna see.
