Most Under Rated Cue Maker

His cues are really well made........

if you're ever in the Southern Cal or San Diego area, you need to check out Dave Whitsell, "Cues By David". One of the "best hit" cuemaker's and one who will really work with you. And if you haven't heard of him...that is how low he flys.

I own/ed an Arthur, Prewitt, Judd, Becker, Gina, Southwest etc...and yet my playing cue is a Whitsell....that's sayin somethin....

Dave Whitsell.....

The website is http://www.westcoastcues.com but he doest have any of his work posted up online. the only pics of his cues that hes made was featured in the bluebook of pool cues. I have many photos of the cues hes done over the past 3 years but I havent posted any. I'll be sure to post some videos of his shop and of some of his cues for all to see. Dave is an excellent cue maker and table mechanic to top it all off he's a real personable guy and a great friend.

Troy Downey and Ryan Theewan(RAT CUES). Best cues you can buy for the money, and 2 of the best guys to work with.

I own a cue made by Davis with the Burton Spain taper and I must say, I love it. I own a Gilbert also and can never make up my mind which one I want to use. The first out of the case gets to play.
I'm going to throw John Davis into the discussion. He is famous for his forearms but he also makes full cues. I've seen cues with a Davis forearm sell for more than a Davis cue.

Love my Wayne Holmes Cue, really good value for money and plays great and really can't fault any of the work. Can't believe some people still not heard of him.

Randy Mobley

Put that name in the search engine here...

man i wish he was underated....... so i could pick up a few.....his cues are crazy awesome with unreal exactness....i am going to be looking for one at the expo this coming year....

Randy Mobley hands down

Attention to detail is Randy Mobley's strongest point. I went to his house to pick up a cue and Randy wouldn't let me take it because the ring work didn't match on the shafts, on one shaft the ring was a hair thicker than the other, I really wanted the cue so I told Randy that's how ill tell the 2 apart he didn't like it but he saw how much I really wanted it. I now own 3 of his Cues and have 4 more on order ill post the pics on the main forum later

I know I've posted it before and he is old school and doesn't make many cues anymore but Jim Ingram makes some of the best hitting cues out there. His style is quite traditional but man they hit like nothing else.

Contrakid,

Wayne is currently building my own custom design. Great, GREAT person to deal with. So far my conversations and correspondence with him has been nothing less than perfect. I agree with you, more people should know about Mr. Holmes. He truly is one of the good guys out there.

Chris :O)

Mike Erwin

You might be surprised at some big names that Mike Erwin tutored in making cues. Erwin Cues are like furniture that play very well. This is a great thread, happy to see it started !!. Mike Erwin, Great Cue Maker, you'll get more cue for your dollar than anywhere else in my opinion.

unknown cuemaker

Im sure he isnt well known but Joe Baker is a very good cuemaker and one of the nicest guys I have met in the pool world. My brother was killed in a car accident this year we had a benefit pool tournament to raise money for his wife and my newborn nephew, Joe showed up with a very nice jumpbreak cue to raffle off and refused any payment for it. I love cues but he has earned my business for life. Jbakercustomcues.com if you want to check him out

As far as under the radar masonh, sheldon lebow, and scott zachow. I would never get rid of either my masonh or my zac sneaky. And if i could get my friend to sell me his lebow sneaky it would be in the same boat. About 4 months ago i gotta test drive a new lee peppers f/s with veneers and it played very well too.
