What cuemaker do you feel is flying under the radar? As far as quality, fit, finish, point work, price, etc. Which cuemaker gives you the best bang for your buck so to speak. Lets see what people come up with. Thanks for your input.

not so under the radar

I have had several of carolina customs cues and I still don't understand why these dont bring more money. They Play lights out, craftsmanship is exelent. I dunno what more you could ask for. I have had many big name cues, TS, Mottey, JMW, Josswest, just to name a few. Not saying CC is better than the others, but for a value minded players cue it would be hard to beat them

Thats what I`m talking about cowboy. Cues that play good, have good craftsmanship in them but still fly under the radar of people. Thanks for posting up your thoughts. Keep them names coming azers.

Without a doubt, Dick Neighbors, RHN Custom Cues, one of our own AZBers and my old partner. I even have a cue on order from him.

Lee Pepper of LP customs. Super price, fast build time, excellent craftsmanship and a nice guy to work with! Can't ask for more.

+1 for Lee Peppers. He has a classic style with his cues, and his craftsmanship is fantastic. I've got one of his conversions in my case, and a custom on order.

Underrated Cuebuilder

The first one that comes to mind is Terry McFadden.
Terry built cues for years in his pool hall here in Denver for local players, but when he teamed up with Ernie Martinez his abilities really took off.
He has since sold his pool hall, moved to Arizona, and is now a full time cue builder.
McFadden cues have a nice crisp solid hit, and he is a great guy to deal with.
I think he is underrated and underpriced.

For me, it's the following:

Coker Cues (Tom and Michi Coker)
Carter Cues (Chad Carter)
Erwin Custom Cues (Mike Erwin, who was building "Original" Meucci's back in the day.

Paul Sumrall

I think S&S cues by Paul Sumrall are fantastic. I ordered one and it came in this morning. The fit and finish is great and the hit is outstanding. I haven't played a lot since around 1982. I have 12 cues that I got off of the AZ in the past 7 months and Pauls is by far the best one.
Prices and turn around time is as good as it gets.
Full splice cue I really love it.
I have one coming from Lee Peppers and will give a review of it when I get it. Paul and Lee both are great guys to work with.
Thanks a lot Paul for the fantastic cue.

So many good cue makers today! A couple who I like that are not high profile include Chuck Starkey (Starkey Cues), Guido Orlandi, Zylr Cues and Al Romero Cues. All the above make excellent hitting cues for very reasonable prices. Sad to say that we lost Kerry Zylr this year. If you can ever find one of his cues, BUY IT!

As far as making a well designed and finely finished cue Jacoby's are right up there. A lot of work goes into his cues and his prices remain quite reasonable.

With little doubt this perfectly describes Billy Webb. He Point work, Construction Technques, and his finish are all second to known. The prices for a Bill Webb cue ia also currently far less than other cues constructed and finished to this level.

Here is Bill Webb's Website:
