There are alot of great players that don't quite get the recognition they deserve, and that people think play below their true speed. I was just curious which players, in AZer's opinions, don't get the respect that they deserve.

I'll start. I have seen Jamie Baraks play a couple of times this year. Most people don't think his game is top shelf, but to me, he is one of the most underrated players in the game.

If Brian were still interested in pool at all, I like him. Unfortunately, at a tournament 2 weeks ago, Brian informed me he was done with pool. I gave him a ride back to his hotel and he swore to me he was done. Of course at the time he had just lost a hill-hill match to Jason Miller. But he has lost a lot of his desire to be at the top of the list.
George Breedlove, He don't play much any more and a lot of people under-estimate him for this reason. But if you look at the few tournaments he's played in the last couple of years, he is a threat to beat almost anyone he plays. One of my favorite players to watch. Sam

I don't know that he's particluarly underrated, but I think he's overlooked:

Assuming you are right, Sam. Then the only guy I see is, Shane Vanboening...

This kid is a world beater now and can only get better.

Yes.. Jamie Baraks.. I watched him practice before the tournament for an hour without missing... I though this guy is going to be a champion very soon. I end up playing him, and I went to the table 2 times to kick in a race to 9... Made me feel like I was a spectator, but it was awesome to watch.

landon shuffett

I think he is very under rated he almost beat john hennasee at the high pockets tournament and went 9-6 aginst the 96 us open champ o and he is only 11 years old.

I'll 3rd Troy Frank. Awsome player with some of the best "no frills" fundamentals in the country.

Honorable mention: John Horsfall, John Schmidt, Sambajon, Hemmah, Luat

Shane?

I agree with $Bill, this kid is the real deal and has the heart to go with it.
He really loves it too!

Tyler Eddy & Edwin Montal are 2 player that are just starting to play the pro tournaments and have done very well. I believe Edwin has won a couple.I bet you will here more about them in the near future.Another guy who I have not seen in a couple of years but was very impressive is Rick Marshall.

Landon certainly has a great future and I assume you are talking about Reed Pierce that he went 9-6 against instead of Rodney Morris because Reed won the U.S. Open in 95. Rodney won it in 96. Landon was taught to be a classy young man by his parents too. Best of luck to him and them.

I'll offer Sandor Tot. Ranked #1 on the Eurotour during 2005, 9th at the BCA Open, yet relatively unknown and overlooked by Europe in selection of their Mosconi Cup Team.

Dennis Orcullo, too. Less known than most of the Fillipino superstars, but, at least in the eyes of some, as good a money player as there is on the Philippines. a realtively unknown world-beater.
