most underrated cue?

Most underrated, and best bang for buck are two completely different things.

Best bang for buck is pry the R360 like what Shane plays with. $140 on ebay I think.

Most underrated cue is tough to say. I think a custom maker for sure, but who. Depending who you ask, everybody's stuff plays lights out. I'll tell you Keith Kues play better than anything you can find. That's my opinion. Another guy will tell you they are shit and but xxxxxxxxxxx cue maker...

I would however throw Huebler, and even Dufferen in the mix for most underated. re-taper either of these and have a pretty decent playing cue, whether most will admit it or not.

None of the above pry helped much, but it is, what it is...

best,

Justin

Joe Callaluca. His cues play great. I have one that I just will not give up, plays as good as any I've ever held in my hands. Also agree that Dick Neighbors is underrated.

Absolutely!!!

Cuetec R-360. Under $200. Buy the Cuetec screw-on ex and you're good to go. Johnnyt

If it's good enough for the most dominant players of their era, then it's good enough for me......just think about it, Shane, Earl, Allison Fischer.....a Cuetec has probably won more Major Tournaments and Prize Money than any other cue in the last 30 YEARS!

Proof once again that "It's the Indian, not the Arrows!"

Mali

Hands down - Mali. The old ones with the word Mali in green on he butt cap. I still have one. It was my first "serious" cue.

Ewa Mataya signed it at an event where they play folks from the crowd. I got picked - and she agreed to sign it after we played.

Those old Malis really do have a nice feel.

I play with a $245 Viking and it has a good solid hit, has the Vikore shaft also. Dont see how you can go wrong with that for that number.
Someone else commented that it had a good solid hit to it that tried it.

Before I switched to Cuetec I played with Vikings for about 35 years. I still have a $300+ Viking with 3 shafts. Johnnyt

All of the above is true IMO. Johnnyt
PS: The new R-360 is not your Father's Cuetec.

Yep. I was shocked when I first started playing with it. Johnnyt

Earl didn't play with a cue-tec. He played with custom made shafts and what not. Shnae and Allison play with Cue-tecs. You wouldn't like a stock model of what earl played with, and neither would most players.

best,

Justin

best,

They only had fiberglass shafts when Earl was with them. The new R-360 is all wood and Low D to boot. Johnnyt

If they didn't have pool gloves back in the day of fiberglass coated shafts they should have !

imo it would be the only way to use them if you didn't want to have a gallon bottle of talc !

I'm calling bs.....
...if you took the best 1,000 players that ever lived...
...and they HAD to buy their own cue....
...and play for everything they owned....

There would not be one Cuetec in the group.

There is one.

His name is shane.

He plays with cuetec's R-360, which has only been available for a few years.

So it can only pertain to todays players.

Nevermind the old versions of cuetec. They do not count. They were totally different imo.

He is sponsored by cuetec. If memory serves me correct, he was using a Joss before he signed with cuetec.

Well, I have to confess...I've never hit with a R-360.

But the only player's name I can think of right now that I want to see on a cue that I own....
Bobby Hunter

In golf, it was Ben Hogan and Henry Cotton.

Most sporting types sell their name to the highest bidder.

You're probably right...but that's only because they are so underrated :p. Johnnyt

I guess I'm a bit prejudiced, Johnny.
I bought a j/b Cuetec when they first came on the scene.

I'm willing to try innovations because of my golf experience.

I ruined the joint with less than 30 playing hours.

And I only break 'bout 4 mph...:o
