just got back a few days ago.
earl packed the house alot of the places we went .he puts on great shows and the students seemed to enjoy the instruction.
we toured thru washington, idaho, montana, wyoming, new mexico and colorado.
anyone that knows me knows im a motorcycle nut and it made me sick to have to drive thru the most scenic states in the middle of summer in a suv instead of on my bike.
earl was a good roomate, gave me some tennis lessons and great stories on the trip ,and mark was funny as usual and a great manager..earl can really play tennis.to do exibitions with earl is an honer and im learning alot.

i had fun and look forward to the next trip. thank you mark griffin, mark cantrill, earl and all the people in the poolrooms for making it all happen.

You sir, are what we call the nuts. If you can go on the road with such an active personality such as Earl, you are understanding to say the least. Much respect.

Anyways, I would play, or should I say give you $20 a game one hole anytime, if you head back to the Pac NW

Is this the nice, new and improved John??? Where's your dang frothing at the mouth stinkin' goat? J/K!

Seems you 3 made some good memories. Shirley the "spooning incident" was the hi-light of your trip. I hope Mark at least lit a couple candles and played some Johnny Mathis for that. :grin-square: (did you go to the clinic yet?)

I'm pulling for you to snap off The Open this year! I'll be in the stands clanging on a small cow bell for every shot you make.

Thanks for the crib notes. Best of rolls pards.

I'm really happy that you had a good time John. When you spend 2 weeks with 2 other guys onthe road and always in such close quarters its can grind on peoples nerves a little. Thankfully we all came out of this unscaved witha little more $$ in our pocket that we started with.

I have 2 things I am working on right now and one of them is planning to take a trip to Texas. I hope you will be able to make it again.

Csi

John, you must be a saint..."I'll tell you that right now"
How many times did you hear Earl say that.

It was a fun show here in Denver.
You tortured our house player / house loser.
He's still in recovery.

Hope to see CSI back in early December

Thanks
Ted

The bike trip you will never forget is Yellowstone (Wyoming/Montana) to Glacier National Park (nw Montana). Some of the best scenery you will ever see in the US. And we do have a few crazy pool players in the area.

Sounds like a lot of fun. John have you seen the thread on which hand to chalk your tip with?

Glad to hear you and Earl made it in one piece  Like Jack said Montana has some players believe it or not. The University of Montana in Missoula has the budget and is looking for a pro to come in for guest lecture and exhibition. I'm one of the instructors so you'll have to let me know next time you come around! 15 GC IV's and brand new felt, might play a little loose for you though

Still planning on playing Pagulayan in an all-around? Dates set? Hope to see this go off.

You probably have the best player in Montana, Cole Dixon, just down the road in Billings and if he was able to teach you could probably learn a ton of great shots and banks but I am not sure he ever plays in Montana.

I would agree with you, I have made that trip at least a half a dozen times and it blows me away.

Sounds like a kick! Perhaps next time you can get a rack for the motorcycle on the RV so you can occasionally ride it and meet up at the next stop. Then again, a decent rack would set you back a few hundred dollars. But as you said, the scenery is priceless.

John,
I was so curious about how you two got on with each other, but I wasn't going to ask you. Thank you for posting how things went.

Shannon Daulton, you and Earl are my three favorite active American players. What a treat it must have been for Mark to be able to hang out with you both for so long! I can't imagine how much fun that must have been!

Stay safe on them bikes, have fun and good luck in all your future endeavors, on and off the table.

i think the treat might have been to hang out with Mark, the most knowledgable and influential person in pool.
if the pro tour ever does become significant it will be becausethey finally put Mark in charge and give him a free hand.Until then pool players will probably liger in obscurity, not able to make a living on a tour that barely exist

John,
Not to get off subject, but is there any talk of the match with Alex in baton rouge being resceduled?

WOW you must be talking aboput Mark Griffin right? He was not on the trip just the other T-Wheels Mark. You know the baby sitter, water boy, phone call maker, driver etc etc :)

Yup Cole is halfway starting to play again (we think). He played at the State 8 ball in billings this last spring. He still had that stroke that could produce shots that us mortals can't even fathom. Hell if the tables were halfway decent he could have given the title a run. I didn't get to meet him but that would be an awesome connection to make!
