As a woman, as a pool player and a Chicagoan-
I've heard a lot of B.S. so my B.S. meter is a pretty fine tuned instrument-

You've admitted you cannot handle money,
you've admitted that you have stalled intentionally- knowing the money is not there!
How can you sell something that is already in debt without satisfying the players payment first?

If business is so good, why aren't the players paid after your event and then 3 months later, then since the time of your last interview?

Why are you allowed to continually stall?

AMEN Angel! BB needs to man up and pay off these outstanding debts immediately. If he made $30K the last two weekends, surely he can afford to pay off a measely $6000 owed to players for the last US Open 9-Ball! :angry:

I think all these threads directed at BB are the epitome of shaking your fist at a cloud. BB doesn't read the forum. He doesn't care what we think. He probably doesn't care that much about paying people except that it generates a little negative publicity among the diehard participants of a fringe sport.

CJ Wiley posted yesterday or today that the title is enough to motivate him to play the event, even if he doesn't get a check. So what's that tell you? That if BB holds the event, players will show up and we will be having the same conversation 12 months from now.

That was just a post to get his foothold in the thread before bringing up his TOI DVD again, which he did.

The Crying , complaining, calling people out is a joke.

The same old Screw me once shame on you story, well that ship sailed a long time ago, apparently in pool there is a sucker born every year, for the U.S. Open, a few hundred suckers every year.

If that were me who was owed money, I would spend more money and hunt him down, I would take another loss. He would thank me when I was finished with him. He would never screw another player again.
It is the money and it is the principle.
The best players on Earth are starving.

Screw the US Open, let it die and move on. Everyone move to Asia.

I never want to see anyone get screwed, there comes a time people need to grow a backbone, if not expect to get stepped on again and again.

Expect what you tolerate, the players are getting exactly what they deserve.

I will always remember CJ's Thread, titled: Free Video.

Yes, it was Free. It was a Free Video of him pitching his TOI DVD.

Now. Of CJ's videos that he claims that he Shares. The majority of them are CJ talking on a microphone. His Sales video for TOI. A couple of Trick Shots. One of him running 15 against the Ghost.

Gotta watch Hucksters like that closely, or you will end up getting nothing, for something.

Something = Your Money.

Princess (As she refers to herself), Mary Avina could take over Jay's job as TD, and work the floor with no clothes on.

As she doesn't seem to mind posting half Nudie pics of herself on her Face Book page.

That would surely bring in some fans.

I like Jay just fine. Just have no desire to see him Ref shots in the nude.

300, 000 copies sold. Pfffft. More like 300.

If I ever find my copy, I will probably use it to make some clear tip pads out of.

Then, the tips will already contain a Touch of Inside.

TOI already got a TOF in my living room. Touch of Frisbee.

We agree on the bold.! I disagree when it affects new players who are not familiar with the history of the US Open's non-payments and are being targeted because of their naivete and distance.

I know how I would handle this situation if it happened to me or mine. I can not believe that no one else has stepped up on behalf of them. I heard from my step son that while they were there last weekend, someone accidentally bumped into him and spilled his beer onto the cloth.

It would suck if that happened every week until the players got paid and Barry manned up.

Krup. Got enuff people shaking their fists on AZ. That's how revolutions and small wars were won. Start small and word catches on.

Barry doesn't read AZ. Maybe, maybe not. I bet darn sure that he knows what is being said about his actions, 100%.

I actually said it would be better to win the US OPEN in Virginia and not get paid than win any other tournament in the US and get paid.

Anyone that wins the US OPEN has an opportunity to create value in the future. This value can easily reach into the millions. After winning the ESPN World Open I was able to secure a million dollar loan on just a personal signature. This would not have been possible without the credibility of winning the ESPN tournament.

It would be a good idea for Barry to take $30k out of the prize money and televise the US OPEN on ESPN. This would be much better for the players (in the long run), the fans, and the game's nation-wide exposure.

Barry knows, he's produced a number of ESPN events a "few" years ago.

It's not rocket science, it's more beneficial to win one televised tournament than all non televised tournaments put together.

We had some years that had hundreds of matches playing on ESPN. These days we can only imagine what that {magnitude of publicity} did for the game's popularity and notoriety.

TV is the key to any sport or game's ability to stay recognized in the public spot-light.

The men promptly shot themselves in the foot, they will not touch it now and you see the kind of upside down deal the women have.
They pay their own production and get what?
Airtime-okay...AND???
People can barely call to mind their names-<sigh>

Well it's a nice pipe dream but if pool was ever going to be mainstream it would of happened before now ,,

That's not saying it can't get some air time it can
But it will never even scratch close to the surface of main stream sports ,nor should it , it's not one of them

Even at its best day it supported a very small percentage of the pro players even the highest earner made less than a top PGA caddy
