My first 860 install

Here are the pictures of my second recovering job and the first one with 860. I did Velocity Pro the first time and it was a completely different experience this time.

The quality of the two are very different. Simonis is not as forgiving but I learned a couple tricks this time.

Very tight stretch on the bed cloth and very straight from what I can tell.

I am 227 and put about all I could into it.

There are no staples attaching any part of the bed cloth. I made a couple goofs on the rails but know next time. Plus I learned a few more tricks this time around that will make it much easier and quicker next time.

See pictures at link below. You can criticize if you like but it is a little late and I am stuck with it regardless of the hate mail.;)

Looks good to me.

What Kind of table is that it looks very simiar to my old table that I bought from craigslist. But in MUCH better condition.

No criticism here. Looks great.. I know "mechanics" with 20 years in the field that couldn't match the job you did here...:D

Nice pictures as well... sending you some green for the "no staples"

Steepleton. I bought it used but I think it is called the playmate. Not a very high quality table but does job.

Very neat work. It appears that the side pocket cushion facing sticks out from the cushion just a bit.

Very nice work for a rookie :D
I see you went the European look with the Simonis logo showing.
A citrus-based adhesive remover will remove that if you're so inclined.

Simonis logo

I like to see it on there. That way when you go to sell it. The person knows what kind of cloth it is. Ron

I left the logo on there intentionally. Kinda liked it. It is very difficult to see when playing or just glancing at the table.

Man do I love the 860 on my home table though. Thanks for all the feedback.

Yes I noticed that also. I missed that flaw due to the curve balls the Simonis was throwing me that the Velocity did not. I know better next time. I am definitely pleased with the stretch and the straightness.

Thanks to all the mechanics on here that post pictures, tips, and how to's of their work. These help tremendously.

A hell of a job there. If the side pocket cushion facings are the only glitch, then you have a promissing future as a tech. Very sharp the way you finished off the shelfs. My compliments!

Not really looking to become a tech but glad to see if I need to that I have a possible career. When I see the covering jobs here and then look at local halls I figure I could do a better job (albeit slower) and be happier with it. Can't say I am disappointed with this attempt.

Nice work Martman.....better than some of the so called "mechanics" we've all followed on various jobs!

Damnit, I knew I shouldn't have posted them "how to do pockets" pictures step by step:D

Much appreciated. However, these are simply sections of cloth folded glued and then glued to the pocket. No staples or plumbing strap. I hope they hold up. If they don't I will just do them again with the scraps that I have left.

I don't know how you stretch cloth but if the way I did mine is somewhat similar it is a very atheletic event on your arms, fingers, and legs.

Again your numerous posts along with the other mechanics were a great encouragement to try this on my own again but with much higher quality (expensive) cloth.

I hope you don't thing I was overly critical. The only reason I brought it up is that the Diamond technicians who installed new cushions on my table madethe same error. The facings catch balls that should run down the cushion. The facings on my Diamond Pro stick out at least 1/16" if not 1/8".

RKC is coming soon to fix that and another problem I caused.

Heck no that is why I posted the pictures! I did check them tonight and it may be more of a shadow than anything. I am going to check them again tomorrow when I am not so tired and roll a ball down the rail and make sure.

I ain't no's mechanic that is fo sho. But I love learning the technique to do things like this and it is a risk but it turns out decent most of the time.

Thanks for noticing and looking at it closely. I made several other goofs but they will not affect playability.
