yes there were offers but none near the mark,tihn was a cash buyer no trade involved. so he was the one that got it. sorry guys but with cues like this its hard to take trades on szambotis

So you know-Bill is telling the truth, I called him about something else and we talked for about 15 minutes, I mentioned to him I picked up a real real nice Barry this week(again-I have lost count now) and he said he sold one instantly when he put it on his site eariler that day. I didnt ask him about it because I wasnt interested because I am done buying cues for a while. We were just talking-Szams move fast, most of mine have been people comming to me privately, thus the cues are never on the market and I dont talk about them-sometimes the sellers dont want the deals public. Thats the case lots of times with $20,000+ cues.
unless you hate $$$ its not possible to take trades on Szams. They are the only thing in this F'ed up economy in the past 3 years that havent wend down in price, and are equal to cash instantly. And I also know one more thing there is a consoludation of them as well, Gus's and Barrys. There are a handful of guy's buying and holding them, therefore making it harder to find them floating around in the market. No body is giving up any deals on them. I dont steal them when I buy, I pay full pop or close to it in private deals, I mite could sell the Barry I picked up last week for $500 more than I paid-then add the shipping costs and I would make less than I spent on dinner tonight. There is no short cut to a Szam.
same for Black Boars there are just too few cues being made and the guys who own them paid all the $$ for them and arnt selling. The rest of the cue market is negoataible.

this thread is EXACTLY why I do private deals and dont post pics.
People cant handle it. its really sad that people especialy in pool for what ever reason spend more time counting other peoples $$$ than anything else. I could give a shit about someone eles $$, I got enough of my own troubles to deal with. "If you want to play you gotta pay", there is one more saying "it costs to be the boss". those axioms hold true in all walks of life-you never get to test drive a Enzo before you blow $1,300,000 on it, you buy it then get to drive it. Thats the way life is-deal with it.

I didn't want to post agin on Tinh's thread but I want to clear some things up that you aren't aware of.
I in no way have sour grapes about Bill not excepting my offer, God knows I have plenty of cues. My problem is Bill had the pics sent to me 5 days before he posted the cue in the gallery. I told the person who sent them that I would offer a 7k cue and 6k cash for the Szam. I assume Bill was right next to him and he said to send him pics of the cue. So of course I did via pm. So for days I'm waiting for a response out of Bill (common courtesy) and never get one. Now remember he contacted me about the cue and also told me to send the pics. This has happened three times over the years where he hasn't responded. So, like I said it's not about stepping up,cash,trade or whatever else to get the cue (even though I probably would have paid all cash). It's about his lack of simple,common courtesy and a simple explanation to why he didn't want my offer..
Just wanted you to understand that.
Tinh, I am sorry about my three posts and won't derail your thread again.

HUH??? your topps in my book Kenny, awalys have been and will be. None of my posts in this thread were even refering to you, I think you mis-understood something I said.
I agree its a shame this thread went this way with such a beatiful cue, Barry is amazing. And I'm very happy for the buyer, additionally I hope Ralf gets a Szam sometime he has a beatiful collection of cues, I have spent 6 months in Germany and learned one thing-living in Germany is a disadvantage when it comes to cue collecting, because most of the dealers are here in America and all you can do is buy from looking at pictures. So its hard to buy cues there, I know that first hand.

I been having a tuff time recently and my mood is reflected on some of my posts, I appologise to everyone here. I feel bad about this thread, its such a beatiful cue. I think were all a bit edgy recently and I am sorry for what I said.
