My First Tascarella! Too excited!

The more time I play with this cue the more I understand what a monster it is!
Keepin' it!

Monte, what a nice cue. I think you got me hooked on wanting a Tascarella. Oh by the way, after talking to you a nicer guy couldn't have got this one. Enjoy!

Thanks Bob. Post some pics of your new Tascarella when you get it!

Beautiful Tasc!

That is one gorgeous cue.

I am fortunate to have one of Pete's cues and it plays fantastic.

Both Pete Sr. and Jr. are real gentlemen and always a pleasure to deal with.

Enjoy.

Yea...but

Unless I read it wrong, the Monte has 3 shafts with this cue. So, taking one down to his preference by a local guy like Ed or Ernie wouldn't be so bad seeing that he would still have 2 std size shafts. If all 3 he has are really nice, personally, I would have another made to my preference and never look back.

Congrats on the nice cue Monte. I almost bought when I first saw it!!

Russ.....

Yea BUT, Tasc is the only one that can do a TRUE Tascarella taper!!!

That is why I will never again buy a cue on the secondary market, either people shave their own shafts down, like I saw some tool at the pool room the other night using a scotchbrite pad on a shaft like he was rubbing one out, OR theyll have a cuemaker take the shaft down....I had two beautiful cues I sold to locals, both cues had the shafts tapered down and after which they both played like SHYTE, one of the cues I wanted to buy back but the original taper was F'd, totally changed the dynamics

EVEN for refinishes, I will always send to either the original maker, or one of my buddies in the business that I TRUST

OH and BTW-----FANTASTIC CUE, very very very original

Beautiful cue...

Hopefully my first Tascarella will be delivered by the end of this year. Needless to say, I am getting more excited day by day.

Congratulations,
Chris

Thanks for the comments guys. Damn, this really is a nice cue! What plays similar to a Tasc that isn't a Balabushka???

Might have a Bushka-ish SS-Joint Tascarella up for sale soon.

The Wrap Could Be A balabushka Type Wrap

I can't really tell for sure by the pictures but the wrap looks like it's Cortland Linen which is what George Balabushka and other reknown cue-makers of that era used. The white with green specks is what leads me to believe it's Cortland Linen which is the best linen wrap you can get.

Personally speaking, I dislike leather wraps to actually play with but they do look nice. Regardless, all of my cues have Irish Linen wraps and that's all I look for when buying a cue.....leather doesn't interest me in the slightest, aside from being the only type of cue case I'd ever own.

Matt

Congrats !! All of Pete's cues I've ever had played great.....and his 3/8-10 flat face are exceptional hitters.....imo of course.

I feel the same way you do Matt. I really like the feel of the linen wrap. My preference looks wise is wrapless. I sweat a little too much for that though.
I believe it's a Cortland on my cue. Sure feels like it. So nice!

Need advice. I'm going to have Pete retaper one of the shafts. I have two 13mm shafts and one 12.7mm shaft. I like the 12.7mm and I don't really use the 13's. Should I have him take down my least favorite 13mm shaft or do the 12.7mm? I know for resale value, if I ever sell, people like to have two 13mm shafts. Does it make a difference for buyers to have 13mm, 12.7mm and 12.4mm shafts over two 13's?
