My garage renovation (Pics)

$Bill, I just got off the phone with them. The SCR2 is manufactured in Miami, Florida. I wonder how in the hell I got all of this turned around in my head.

It was either the damned electrician or probably that Fury/Sterling cue guy/Barton's fault. :-)

JoeyA (must be getting old)

The Titan is manufactured in Miami, FL by the Niagra Industries. Here is their link. http://www.tanklesswaterheater.com/products1.html. They also make one designed for the super cold northern states with three burners instead of the two in mine. It costs about double or around $400. The $200 model I have works great here in Jackson, even when it got to the teens this winter. No, I do not own stock but probably should buy some.

Quite unusual to not allow alcohol but sounds good to me.

That's a nice room in the making. What are you going to put on the walls?

BTW, those Titan tankless water heaters are new, made in China and I'm going to buy one and try it out at the fishing camp. A couple of other people have already purchased them although I don't know how durable they are. You should be concerned with the size of your house and the heated water needs that you have. Titan makes a couple of different types of water heaters as do many other manufacturers. The prices vary GREATLY and it seems that there is a lot of sales spin put on the savings that can be obtained. You could easily move the water heater outside and attache a water closet to the back of your house (metal shed) enclosing the water heater. Here in Louisiana it is VERY common to have a metal water closet attached to the back of your house. Not a lot of heat loss and you can always wrap them if you choose.
I'm going with the Titan because it is cheap and the fishing camp won't be used regularly like a traditional house.

$Bill, how long have you had the Titan tankless water heater?

Bosch also makes them.Menards,Home Depot.Lowes you can get them..some work better than others..research them thru Consumer Reports..

Why the heck the big windows? Maybe the sun doen't shine directly in but who needs the distaction.

What the heck, your time in Iraq is worth a little diversion.

The windows are for nothing more than making the outside of the house look "normal", rather than looking like someone walle up the garage..

They'll have thick drapes over them while I am practicing.

I was Active Army, but I'm out now, doing contracting.

I see you are in Seoul.. That was my first duty station. Ahh, those Itaewon nights....

Looks like things are progressing nicely. I also finished my garage in my house for the same purpose. It is approximately 24' x 20' and is pretty awesome for a dedicated Pool/Play Room (I also have a poker table out there).

Good Luck. I am sure you will love it as I do mine.

Yea its great here, Itaewon has quite a few players. When were you here, I been back and forth since 2002. Check out this website see if you recognize anyone from your itaewon days.

Eh.. Nearly no chance of me recognizing anyone from there.. I was there in 1994, and I played on post only. The only time I ventured off post was when I took a trip to the shopping district an hour or so north of Seoul.

I was a mediocre player at best back then.. I played mostly with a player named SGM Seto. He dominated the weekly tournaments on post, over players I later learned were fairly good players. SGM Seto placed either 1rst or 2nd when the Korean pros all came on post to compete in a joint Korea/US championship.

SGM Seto was the first good player I played, and he motivated me to keep practicing, and trying to play better players..

The player I am now could give the player I was then at LEAST the 6 ball.. Since I couldn't consistently beat the regular players I was around, I guess I didn't see any reason to expand my boundaries.

Here's another pic.. This is after painting.. There will be a different color carpet going to doorknob height on the wall, with wood trim.

Here's another.. Doors painted brown with trim the color of the ceiling..

The power junction box will be covered by some sort of box that looks like it should house a dart board..

The water heater has a box that will surround it.. The box will be painted to match the room, with carpet on it also. I am planning on attaching cloth from the top of the box to the floor, with a plant on top or something..
