I've known Tang since 93'. We met at Hollywood Billiiards. To say the least, I have seen him play great many times. I am glad to see him playing again. He has what it takes to be a world champion, no doubt in mind! His attitude and demeanor, on and off the table, are exemplary. Great playing at the Open Tang! Peace! Pablo 'The Tarantula' Matheu :D

I would guess from where you live you met him in Florida but then Tang is a West Coast guy so which Hollywood Billiards was it?

Hi Jay,

I have some good memories of you and Tang - not together. lol Tang and Marcus, me and the twins ate Korean BBQ in Vegas and Tang kept ordering for us. He really is a sweet guy and I am glad he is doing so well. Make sure he knows he can enter the last 2 IPT tournaments for $1000 entry fee (with first place $350K to $500K) and can also play in the qualifier to be selected for next year, because I am sure he will be in the top 50.

Also, remember the night I stayed with Ming and you were sleepwalking? :o

Tell him and Dave Hemmah hi from Mike and me.

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the update. Yes, Tang was tardy on applying for the IPT so he is an alternate. He will definitely be trying to get into the Open events. He has rededicated himself to Pool.
As far as the night with me and Ming, I don't remember. I must have slept thru it. lol
Say hi to lucky Mike Z. for me. He must have done something right because he won the best prize in the Northwest....you.
I saw where he just won another tourney. Tell him I need the 8 and the break now.
Take care,
jay

Thanks Jay, you sweet talker! I will be excited to see Tang play again. I hope you will be at the IPT stops so we can visit again...when you are coherent. lol

I just heard that Tang won the monthly one pocket at LA Hard Times beating out our man Wayne P

I met Tang several years ago in Olathe, KS - he was hanging with Marcus Chamat and Jose Parica... Had a great time hanging with those guys. Tang is ONE of the neatest people i have met in pool. He is a great shooter and has a good time!

I lived Cali when I met Tang. We played at Hardtimes. I met at Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood.

Tang is a better person then he is a pool player. I am PROUD to call him my friend. Great thread Jay.

Tang and i shared a table at the us open a few years back, warming up.
I had never met him before, never seen him since.
I wil concur: he was a gentleman. Friendly and fun.

Would of loved to see the game between frost and tang that scott talked about in the power one pocket dvd. that match sounded brutal:banghead:
